Specific primary responsibilities include: - Evaluate the current operational environment and identify opportunities to leverage advanced analytics. - Helping internal clients define their business problem, understand root causes and scope analytical solutions to address it - Building an in-depth understanding of the problem domain and available data assets - Researching, designing, implementing, and evaluate analytical approaches - Taking initiative in evaluating and adapting new approaches from data analytics perspective - Performing ad-hoc exploratory statistics and data mining tasks on diverse datasets from small scale to Big Data - Investigating data visualization and summarization techniques for conveying key findings - Communicating findings and obstacles to stakeholders to help drive the delivery to market - Develop executive ready presentations to summarize and communicate key messages to senior management sponsors and colleagues. - Collaborating across teams to deliver the best solution for client, working with a wide range of internal resources to integrate solutions into day-to-day processes - Using your knowledge and technical skills to help uncover novel use cases of Big Data analytics that can be deployed at scale across the business Required Qualifications: - Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and communication skills - 7+ years working experience in Business/Data Analytics, Statistics, Predictive Modelling, Data Mining, NLP, Data Visualization and Big Data environments. - Applied work experience in statistical modelling (cross-sectional, panel, time series, parametric and non- parametric) and/or in Machine Learning ( with a good understanding of key supervised and unsupervised methods) - Good working knowledge of some of the following statistical software packages: Python, R etc. - Solid working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Teradata, Oracle etc.) - Experience in practical data processing, data mining, text mining and information retrieval tasks - Experience with Big Data technologies & their applications including Hadoop, Hive, Trifacta, Alteryx etc. Hands on experience with visualization tools such as Tableau and Qlikview. - Excellent leadership, consultative partnering and collaboration across teams - Self-starter and demonstrated strong work ethic. - Prior experience in collection strategy, loss forecasting, marketing, portfolio performance analysis, risk management working in US Auto Finance (Loan and/or Lease) industry would be a preference. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Must possess the ability to work and research/resolve issues independently while sharing best practices and knowledge with colleagues - Collaborate with management and staff in the development and implementation of all projects and/or initiatives related to operational goals and/or process improvement directives - Ability to understand business needs, diagnose performance issues, and develop recommendations through combination of data analysis and business critical thinking - Able to organize/manage multiple priorities and projects coupled with the flexibility to quickly adapt to ever changing business priorities and perform well under pressure - Assure the integrity of data, through extraction, manipulation, processing, analysis and reporting. - Detail oriented coupled with the ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness Additional Skills are a Plus - Experience with big data transformation and wrangling tools and languages such as Alteryx, Trifacta, Spark, Scala, etc.) - Knowledge of retail financial products life cycle and familiarity with business applications and associated data flow - In-depth knowledge of consumer and wholesale banking data - Prior experience in the retail financial services industry is a plus Educational Requirement - The candidate must have an educational background in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
