Description: - Work with Risk Management business colleagues to assist in ensuring the Risks & Controls throughout the department are known and to assist in the identification and/or development of controls to mitigate gaps; - Develop and expand knowledge of Securities Services Operations, its policies and procedures, regulations/laws, and Risk & Control practices in order to implement necessary enhancements to control activities and minimize risk; - Perform Proactive Reviews to understand the operational risk and ensure right controls are in place to de-risk processes; - Perform ongoing analysis of metrics with a focus on effectiveness of controls and having the right balance between preventive and detective controls. Use data and metrics to measure effectiveness and, if necessary, controls are being redesigned; - Actively assess Operational Risk Events , report, remediate and share, but most importantly assist Operations in learning from them to avoid repeat occurrences; - Conduct Control and Operational Risk Evaluation through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs, deep dives & quality assurance (QA) with assigned business units; - Drive the Department's agenda of automation & visualization through use of specialized tech tools.
