About the Role : GFICC is seeking a Full-Time Associate to join the team in India as a Municipal Research Junior Analyst. The role of a Junior Analyst (the Analyst) is to support GFICC Municipal Research Team and Portfolio Managers (PMs), in order to leverage and enhance their ability to generate positive investment performance. The Analyst will be responsible for conducting structural analyses and providing investment recommendations on municipal structured assets considered for purchase in municipal money market funds. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, perform analysis and approval of security structures, perform security structure reviews, and gather related information from brokers. To be successful, the Analyst will need to demonstrate his/her ability to add value to the investment process and develop a deep understanding of the process itself. Responsibilities Include : - Conduct structural analyses and provide investment recommendations on municipal structured assets considered for purchase in municipal money market funds. - Perform surveillance structural analyses on municipal structured assets currently held in municipal money market funds for continuing Rule 2a-7 compliance. - Maintain and enhance the database that supports the approved list of issues considered for purchase in municipal money market funds. - Build and maintain relationships with brokers, rating agencies, and directly with the issuers; leverage those relationships to assist in information gathering and security monitoring. - Utilize knowledge of municipal structured assets and the fixed income markets to provide recommendation on portfolio and risk management activities. - Generate holdings/exposure reports and create reports to monitor & analyze the various market & performance metrics of the underlying securities. - Generate regular and adhoc reports, graphs and datasets for reports and prepare presentations - Maintain regular contact with municipal research team colleagues and PMs, as well as taking part in conference calls and responding to project requests - Assume end-to-end responsibility for projects and presentations - Help to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies surrounding structure and credit research. Skill Sets required : - At least 5/6 years of experience in financial markets, ideally in municipal markets - Analytical aptitude and ability to learn short term and long-term municipal markets and instruments. - Ability to read and evaluate complex documentation and structures. - Demonstrated attention to detail and the proven ability to meet stringent time constraints. - Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills. - Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills in a multi-location setup. - Demonstrated experience with Excel, Bloomberg and other common business software packages. - Be able to identify and implement opportunities for operational improvement. - Programming skills in Python would be an added benefit. - CreditScope/Perform expertise would be preferred. Education : - Strong educational credentials - Ideal candidates for these positions would be Post-Graduates from top Institutes in India. Candidates possessing or pursuing CFA would be preferred.
