Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veterans Department Description : Break Management team is part of CIB's Digital & Platform Services (D&PS) that provides governance on reconciliation and control support to J P Morgan Payment operations team across the globe there by strengthening the process. Role Description : - As a reconciliation break management lead, you will be responsible for making sure the reconciliation of the accounts across the global are done on a timely manner and have a strong oversight and governance on all the outstanding reconciliation breaks (Nostro/Non Nostro) under J P Morgan payments operations. - The lead will need to work very closely with the J P Morgan payments operations team across the global to reduce the breaks and have high level controls on the outstanding reconciliation breaks. On a regular bases lead will have to run governance calls to escalate high value and high risk items to senior management which will be group of Managing directors and Executive directors. - The lead will be responsibility for managing relationships with various groups across the global to improve the process and reduce the outstanding breaks to build efficiencies in the model. The lead will be responsible to build and present qualitative metrics and automation around outstanding reconciliation payment breaks. The lead will have to build a team and motivate them to achieve the organization's goal. Responsibilities : - Re-define engagement model between Recon Utility and various payments operations team - Build and execute the governance model around outstanding reconciliation breaks - Focus on break prevention - Build a workflow tool for break resolution - Review the fund transfer policy and adhere as per the policy - Build governance forums and escalate outstanding items as per the risk to the firm - Work alongside with the Data analytics team to build enhanced metrics & qualitative comments - Define critical areas and build automated dashboard - Review the requirements of new products and integrate the process in the existing model - Define the additional metrics required as per product Functional and Technical Expertise : - Need to have a great knowledge on SWIFT and payment flows and reconciliations of payment transactions. - Experience working with Financial Institutions - General knowledge of all international banking products, services, and markets - Ability to work with the minimum of supervision on day-to-day activities. - Strong organizational skills - ability to dynamically manage and oversee critical tasks accurately and to tight deadlines. - Has built a team / lead teams across global locations. Problem Solving and Analysis : - Highly skilled at problem solving, ability to scope and provide structure to complex issues, rapidly learn unfamiliar processes and provide insightful and timely remediation. - Excellent attention to detail so errors can be prevented and redundancies / opportunities highlighted. - Ability to keep sight of the overall context and remain centred on the strategic picture, identify areas of opportunity for process improvement and build out recommendation to proceed. - Ability to use effective systemic data driven reporting to support program reporting. - Advanced numeracy and Microsoft skills. Communication : - Very strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear and succinct verbal updates on their work to team members, colleagues, senior leads and executives - Ability to liaise effectively between various operations team with empathy and understanding to achieve the common and strategic goal as a team. - PowerPoint / Pitch Pro skills - able to create professional slides and structure presentations with minimal input and need for secondary review.
