The role of a Junior Analyst (JA) in the Fixed Income Credit Research Department at J.P. Morgan Asset Management is to support Senior Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers, in order to leverage and enhance their ability to generate positive investment performance. JAs will be expected to work in a wide range of Securitized Credit Research areas including Asset-Backed Securities, Asset-Backed Commercial Paper, Collateralized Loan Obligations, Non-Agency Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities. Research projects and tasks include, but not limited to, performance analysis of deals and their underlying assets, new issue deal analysis, securitized product issuer reviews, and the related information gathering. To be successful, JAs will need to demonstrate their ability to add value to the investment process and develop a deep understanding of the process itself. Roles and Responsibilities: - Gathering and analyzing data, calculating performances from a variety of sources, including online databases such as Bloomberg, Intex, Credit Rating Agency websites, as well as J.P. Morgan proprietary content - Analysis of various market metrics including, but not limited to, technical factors and sectoral views in fixed Income especially the securitized credit markets in its various subsectors - Analyze the various details of an existing or new transaction and work on projecting the default frequencies, severity calculations and expected losses, etc. - Generating platform holdings/exposure reports and creating reports to monitor & analyze the various market &amp; performance metrics of the underlying assets of the securities - Generating regular and adhoc reports, graphs and datasets - Able to analyze the various pool characteristics of the securitized credit transactions. The analysis would help build various credit metrics in order for the Research &amp; PM Team to get an accurate credit scenario for issuer and security selection. - Writing content (text, tables and charts) for sector and market reports and preparing presentations to be used internally. Be able to write up summary of presentation and distribute to the team. - Maintaining regular contact with colleagues in the global sectors, taking part in conference calls and responding to project requests - Assume end-to-end responsibility for projects and presentations Essential skills / Qualification: - Ideal candidates for this position would be Post-Graduates from reputed Institutes. Candidates possessing or pursuing CFA would be preferred. - Strong understanding of fixed income markets and at least 2 - 4 years of relevant research experience in Securitized Credit - Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power point) - Strong programming skills in at least one of R or Python would be preferred &amp; VBA would be an added advantage - Understanding of Asset Management business and, more specifically, Investment Management business would be preferred - Analytical aptitude and ability to learn concepts within securitized credit and knowledge of relevant markets - Strong quantitative skills and data mining using analytical methods - Good communication and team skills in a multi-location set up - Close attention to detail and ability to work to very high standard - A strong motivation to learn and manage projects independently - Passion for and interest in Securitized Products JPMorgan Chase &amp; Co., one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
