Job Description :


- Firmwide Risk Management is overseen and managed on an enterprise-wide basis. The Firm's risk management governance and oversight framework involves understanding drivers of risks, types of risks, and impacts of risks.


- Within the broader Risk organization, the Risk Chief Data Office (CDO) is responsible for developing a best-in-class data management function across various critical business initiatives (CCAR, Basel, CECL etc.). Through partnerships with Firm wide Data Management (FDM), Business, Operations, and Technology stakeholders, the team is responsible for defining and executing on the overall data governance and data management strategy across Firmwide Risk Management.


The team is looking for an enthusiastic individual join the group as an Analyst. This position will focus on the following Data Management practice areas :


- Metadata Management - data stewardship activities. Contribute to the Risk Data Dictionary build-out - work with partners through working groups to finalize data element definitions and maintain all information in the FDM tool. Research and document data ownership and data lineage. Be the subject matter expert on respective data elements and source systems.


- Data Management - Support the Data Management agenda across Risk. Work in close partnership with LOB, Operations, and Chief Data Office partners.


- Data Controls Management. Maintain best practices for data controls, work with Risk Controllers on analyzing existing controls and implementing additional controls to monitor data health and identify potential data quality issues


Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to :


- Metadata management and overall data management


- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills; analyzing data with respect to corresponding business and technology processes; comfortable working with large quantities of data


- Perform data lineage analyses to map source data to its various use cases and to identify upstream and downstream dependencies


- Support the management of data demand across various Risk functions


- Represent Risk in various data governance forums and data related strategic initiatives


- Assist with the documentation of a Risk data dictionary


- Participate and contribute to Risk Data Governance forums


- Work closely with Technology, various businesses, CDO, Operations and Reporting on various aspects of


- Data Management processes


- Help with defining and driving operational improvements around Risk ta Management and Data Governance


Experience :


- Finance related Bachelor's degree required; Business analysis / Data management / Project management experience helpful


- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience working on large scale firmwide or risk change management programs


- Data quality management and data controls management


- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills; analyzing data with respect to corresponding business and technology processes; comfortable working with large quantities of data


- Communication / Influence


- Excellent ability to quickly learn and assimilate business and technical knowledge, and confidently speak about these processes


- Proven ability to work across diverse groups, build consensus and execute the agreed plans


Soft Skills :


- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple streams of work concurrently in a flexible, fast paced environment


- Highly responsible and able to work with tight deadlines


- Excellent written and verbal communication skills


- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; sound and independent judgment


Technical :


- Overall strong desktop skills including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other Office applications


- Analytical skills (willing to learn quickly)


- Detail oriented and strong organizational skills


- Understanding of concepts and hands-on experience working with relational databases, SQL, and BI tools
