The Finance function is a dynamic organization that plays a critical role, particularly as increasing regulatory and capital requirements change the way we do business. Planning & Analysis (P&A), in addition to CFO teams, Controllers, Business Managers and Project management, make up the majority of the Global Finance & Business Management team.

Function Overview

Global Finance & Business Management (GF&BM) extends to India and is part of JPMorgan's offshore center (Corporate Centers) as well. The team supports Finance Operations, Controllers, Planning & Analysis and Business & Sales support. The teams in India are all aligned to their respective business finance teams and the sales & business teams they support. Locally the teams are managed under a common governance and oversight framework.

The GF&BM Tech CoE dashboards team is involved in the design, development, maintenance, migration and production support of various dashboards using QliKView and Tableau. The team follows agile framework to deliver these solution and works closely with various finance operations teams to increase financial process efficiency and provide error-free results with minimum user intervention through automation.

Role Description

- The person in this role must have software development experience and must possess an understanding of Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence architectures and applications. This role is expected to be a key contributor in the development, implementation & maintenance of advanced tool sets / applications that are key components of GF&BM's long-term strategy.

- The Tableau developer will be responsible for gathering and analyzing requirements, as well as designing, developing and testing applications. The position requires effective prioritization, time management, communication and organizational abilities.


- This position will be responsible not only for the overall process of developing applications but also for testing and conducting limited user training. Experience on QlikView projects is preferred. The candidate should be open to working in shifts (11:30 AM to 8:30 PM). As per company policies, transport drops will be provided if the candidate is working in a late shift.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Provide technical expertise and recommendations in gathering and documenting requirements, analyzing customer needs, and designing technical solutions

- Develop reports and metrics using Tableau/QlikView

- Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes

- Investigate and resolve application functionality issues and provide first-level troubleshooting and support for any data related anomalies

- Ensure appropriate technical documentation is defined and maintained relative to solutions deployed

Essential Skills and Qualifications

- 4+ years of professional work experience in developing Tableau applications, preferably in an environment which included a Data Warehouse using a major RDMS (DB2, SQL Server and/or Oracle)

- Understanding of the Data warehouse life cycle right from data source to ETL to transformations to multidimensional models like data marts, star schema and Reporting

- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational databases

- Delivery oriented, conscientious and reliable, strong written and verbal communication a must

- Expertise in designing and modeling in Tableau with complex multiple data sources relational designs

- Ability to analyze complex problems and business requirements, recommend innovative alternatives and solutions and to implement complex, innovative solutions

- Experience with report and/or user interface design

- Tableau Certification preferred

- Experience on QlikView projects is preferred

- Experience with troubleshooting non-recurring and performance-related issues

- A high degree of passion about application development - the ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies to meet business goals is critical.

- Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and meet multiple deadlines.

- Ability to work independently.

- Bachelor's degree with a focus on Finance and/or Technology

The following are preferred but not required:

- Data transformation in Alteryx

- SharePoint development experience is desirable

- Experience with Excel (2003, 2007, or 2010)

- Experience with Access (2003, 2007, or 2010)
