Profile Summary - Participate in the design, development and implementation of the country's taxation strategies, in line with the Global guidelines continuously enhancing the role in improving Business performance and competitiveness in the market place - To proactively represent and champion Tax & other tax related activities at all Sectors of J&J, fostering positive cross-functional working. - To ensure compliance with local statutory legal requirements. - Coordinate with the external and internal auditors, Govt. Authorities, Consultants - To maintain a highly compliant culture through continuous review of the processes and engagements with key stakeholder - To lead change projects throughout the organization Key Responsibilities Direct Tax - To contribute to business performance enhancement through effective Tax planning and strategies which are alignment to overall business strategies - Exploring tax planning opportunities to optimize Effective Tax Rate (ETR) of the company. - To be overall responsible for the tax compliance of Direct of all J&J India Group entities - To identify potential opportunities or issues in order to take advantage of or resolve them with key depts. in the organization & tax departments - Plan and coordinate for periodic closing for Tax accounting and reporting purposes as per the reporting requirements- Both statutory and group requirements - Coordinate with the tax auditors (Tax Audits, Transfer pricing etc.) to make audit plan in consultation with various departments/ locations and ensure audit is completed in time with no serious concerns. - Ensure that proper tax compliance for both Direct on transactions to which tax is applicable, its payment and also return filings - Managing routine direct tax matters like tax deducted at source, filing return of TDS, routine correspondence with tax department - Ensure that all the tax related accounting transactions are entered in the system to ensure real time accounting and set up effective documentation system for maintaining the effective working papers relating to tax, Tax assessments etc. and as well visualize and plan the tax assessment requirements and for appeals - Active participation in handling matters related to APA such as filling of APA, managing site visits and interviews, preparation and submission of benefit case studies etc. - Ensuring timely compliance of Direct Tax covering timely payment of Advance Tax, withholding tax, completion of Tax Audit, MAT Certification, TP Audit, 80IC reports, filling of TDS Return, Filling of Income Tax Return etc. - Managing the internal Tax Reporting tools to Region/Global Tax Teams - Handling complete Income Tax matters related to Normal & Transfer Pricing Assessment proceedings, Appellate proceedings upto high court levels etc. - Exposed to Issues in International Taxation such as interpretation of Double tax conventions, treaties, etc. - Partnering with internal / external customers. - Handling matter associated with merger of group companies. - Fully Conversant with the requirements of Statutory, Internal & Tax audit. - Having an excellent working knowledge in all the facets of accounts upto finalisation of accounts with complete clarity of accounting concepts and accounting standards. Indirect Tax (GST) - Setting up a process in the area of GST to manage routine compliance in best efficient manner across India. - Ensuring timely compliance in the manner of payment of tax and filling of period returns of GST for states across India - Review of GST applicability on various transactions from service provider and reverse charge mechanism perspective. - Managing the complete process of GST Credit availment through Input Service Distribution Mechanism. - Handling various departmental Audits. - Handling assessment procedure related to GST whenever required Qualification and Experience: - C A with 1-2 years of relevant experience - Experience in industry is preferred and experience with Big 4 consulting firms is desirable.
