Job description: Technical Project Manager


MISSION : The Technical Project Manager is in charge of all technical aspects of the proper realization of a project (coordination of engineering activities, conceptualization, management of interfaces, follow-up with customer and suppliers, coordination with both internal and external specialists, ), with main objective to achieve contractually agreed scope and performances on time and as per budget. He/she ensures the implementation within his/her team of Health & Safety, quality and environmental aspects and standards.


ACTIVITIES :


- Technical management of the project from the acknowledgment of order until the final acceptance of the installation, aiming to optimize the technical results specified in the contract, manage the budget and optimize costs as well as set up a project team and develop skills for the entity and the Group by sharing the experience acquired during the execution of the project.


- Coordinates with the customer regarding all technical aspects to obtain customer satisfaction.


- Plan the operations given to each contributor in link with the Project Manager and Project Scheduler.


- Coordinates and manages technically the technical team (engineers, draftsmen, designers, ).


- Ensures coordination of engineering subcontractors and technical coordination with consortium partners or other entities / vendors involved in the project execution.


- Initiates and coordinates design reviews, especially in the case of changes from what was initially planned, including ensuring the changes approval process.


- Participates to contract review and project follow-up meetings.


- Establishes and updates the engineering schedule and work details including defining the necessary resources.


- Ensures that the designs meet the guaranteed performances in terms of throughput, performances, reliability, safety, maintainability and ergonomics.


- Approves technical documents.


- Ensures the distribution to the concerned functions of all the documents necessary for the execution; updating and filing the technical documents related to the contract.


- Ensures the treatment of requests for derogation and anomaly reports during manufacturing and assembly.


PROFILE :


Training and qualifications:


- Mechanical or electromechanical engineer.


- Proficiency in English minimum.


- Machinery Directive, machine risk analysis, root cause analysis.


Experience: Significant experience in technical missions related to our business (5 to 10 years minimum).


Knowledge and skills:


- Mastery of the design tools, calculation tools, Office 365 suite and usual software for project management.


- In-depth knowledge of John Cockerill machines.


- Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team.


Behavioral skills:


- Teamwork, including with foreign entities.


- Easy communication with stakeholders, including rigor, ability in writing and synthesis.


- Results driven.


KPIs :


- Engineering cost: Forecast vs. Budget


- Material cost: Forecast vs. Budget


- Weekly OTD on drawings / documents issuance


- Engineering S-Curve, schedule, milestones: Achieved vs. Budget


- Revision index on drawings / documents


- Cost of design changes not attributable to customer


- Cost of manufacturing rework due to engineering reason
