Job Title : Senior Manager - Risk and Compliance Reports to : Group Head of Financial Crime Unit & Head - Risk and Compliance, India Background : The Firm : JLT India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group (JLT). JLT is a global organisation of specialists and one of the world's leading providers of insurance, reinsurance and employee benefits related advice, brokerage and associated services. It has over 11,000 employees and a presence in 110 companies in over 40 countries. Teams : The India Risk and Compliance team provides financial crime compliance support, compliance monitoring, information security, business continuity certifications and risk assessment and monitoring exercise. It also works closely with JLT Group teams on Enterprise Risk Management framework, third party checks and provides first line support to JLT Group companies operating in the London Market. The Financial Crime Unit (- FCU- ) is a COE based within India Risk and Compliance and is an integral part of JLT Group's overall approach to managing KYC, third party, sanctions and AML risk. Role Description : Key role The role will have 80% focus on the FCU. The FCU is a global COE consisting of requirements approximately 20 staff, divided into two teams, Business Contacts and Third Parties, and deals with numerous internal stakeholders globally on a daily basis. It performs critical screening and risk assessment services for a number of the Group's key operating companies. Effective screening and risk assessment assists JLT to meet its legal and regulatory requirements and protect its reputation. The FCU's primary reporting line is into the Group Head of Financial Crime, with a local reporting line into the India Head of Risk & Compliance. The FCU is divided into two teams, as follows : - The Business Contacts team is responsible for providing operational support to the London Markets area with regard to the process of Onboarding clients, both new and at renewal. This responsibility includes sanctions screening, KYC, providing due diligence on policy holders and markets and setting them up in the appropriate systems. - The Third Parties team is responsible for assessing all of JLT's third party relationships globally, primarily in relation to the risk of bribery and corruption. Their responsibilities include screening for sanctions, regulatory checks, risk assessment generation, maintenance of approved lists and updating control systems and escalating high risk relationships to Group Financial Crime. The role will cover Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Sanctions, KYC and AML. This includes : - Implementing KYC, third party, sanctions and AML due diligence policies, screening and risk assessment processes - Day-to-day management and development of the FCU, and continuing to build and enhance the level of capability - Proactively building resilience and efficiencies into the FCU operating model - Being the local SME for KYC, third party, sanctions & AML screening - Ensuring the high quality of the FCU's output, including delivering robust QA and MI - Identifying common screening trends and issues, assessing the root causes and recommending solutions to address them - Being the senior liaison point for the resolution of complex/problematic issues with the business operations - Providing training to the FCU and wider business stakeholders as directed by the Group Head of Financial Crime - Participating in financial crime reviews and projects as directed by the Group Head of Financial Crime - Assisting in the planning and development of a more globalised model for sanctions screening across the JLT footprint The remaining 20% of the role will focus on Business compliance activities for various business entities across different regional covering aspects around policy and regulatory compliance. Technical Skills : - Strong KYC, third party, sanctions & AML subject matter knowledge and experience. Whilst experience may have been gained outside the insurance sector, it is important the candidate can show flexibility in their thinking, and apply the knowledge to the different challenges posed by the insurance broking world. - Strong experience of screening tools and dealing with complex potential false positives to establish whether an actual risk is present. - Regulatory and Compliance - Excellent presentation and MS office power point skills General Skills : - Strong Managerial and team building skills, who can keep a team highly motivated and functioning efficiently - Experience of developing and delivering training - Excellent communication skills, including clear and accurate written communication - Experience of dealing with international internal customers - Experience of developing and delivering meaningful management information - Structured and rigorous approach - Collaborative working style - Problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to be comfortable with grey areas and taking a balanced, risk-based view - Strong planning, communication and execution skills Preferred candidate profile : Prior Experience : - 10+ years of post-qualification experience in Financial Services, Banking, Investments, Insurance, working in senior risk and compliance roles within complex global organisations - Relevant Experience of KYC, third party, sanctions & AML - Experience of managing teams and matrix reporting - Experience in designing and implementing risk management and Corporate Governance - PAST EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH REGULATORS (DESIRABLE) Education/ Qualification : - CA/MS/MBA would be preferred - Certification in Risk Management - Certification / Diploma in Financial Crime or AML
