Job Title : Senior Manager

Reports to : Head - Group BPM

Job Purpose :

To be the thought leader on business architecture in the group and drive optimisation of operating models, align them to best practices and realise benefits in terms of better controls, reduced costs, enhanced revenues and improved client satisfaction.

Financial Impact : Takes part in the allocation of budgets for a large function and acts as a spokesperson for the function in the organization. May have responsibility to allocate and manage multiple cost centres. (E.g. HR representative at a regional level for multiple business units, Regional Finance Head)

Geographical Impact : Accountability is Global across all Business Units for multiple functions across Support / Operations

Principal Accountabilities :

1. Keep GEC/ Global COOs abreast of team (Business Architecture) capability so that the most appropriate areas for intervention are focussed on

2. Delivers margin improvements through changes in how the business operations are done

3. Builds capabilities within the Business Architecture vertical to enhance own and team knowledge on current thinking related to the area

4. Build external visibility for self, the function and JLT in the area of expertise

5. Codify knowledge and articulate in the form of papers/ case studies

6. Build and articulate frameworks and methodologies which can also be self-administered by the various operating companies

7. Robust management of stakeholders and project teams to drive proposed change

Context :

Operating Environment :

- JLT India is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jardine Lloyd Thompson group (JLT). The JLT group has two main lines of business Employee Benefits and Insurance Broking and has its presence through owned companies in over 40 countries and through a network its presence is in over 100 countries.

- Group BPM helps JLT deliver its vision through key service offerings, including Business Architecture, Business Excellence and Programme Office, by driving desired outcomes for the JLT Group. The business architecture function helps operating companies improve margin/ customer satisfaction/ enhance controls.

- The role is resident with the Management Services Group of JLT and requires the incumbent to work closely with all Operating Companies globally. The incumbent is responsible to assess, enable and execute change initiatives through effective governance.

Framework & Boundaries :

- Business Architecture tools and methodologies, Work is dependent on projects that are allocated to the team from time to time.

- Authority as delegated by sponsor of the project with respect to cost, time, scope

- Delivery as per agreed and defined operating standards

Relationships :

Subordinates :

- Frequent interaction with team to outline approach and monitor output quality

Superiors :

- Day to day interaction with reporting authority for strategic direction and to provide update on progress

- Weekly interaction with the Group Director for updates on projects and objectives

Others :

Within the company :

- Frequent interaction with stakeholders from operating companies

- Participate and proactively contribute to general management activities of JLTI as a member of the Senior Management Team

Outside the company :

- Vendors for business architecture delivery/ training, experts in the field of business transformation, campuses

Person Specifications :

a. Education :

Essential : Post Graduation

Desirable : MBA

b. Work Qualifications :

Essential : Enterprise/ Business Architecture, Mergers & Acquisitions (Due Diligence and Post-Merger Integration)

c. Training :

Desirable : Domain knowledge in the Insurance space

d. Experience :

Essential :

- 8 - 12 years of experience in consulting / Operating model design

- Project size of spends in excess of 2 million pounds.

- Global experience

Desirable : Multi - geography, multi - divisional projects

e. Knowledge :

Essential :

- Business Architecture methodologies

- Mergers & Acquisitions (Due Diligence and Post-Merger Integration)

- Project Management principles

- Knowledge of insurance

- Latest project management practices

- Industry trends

- Future growth prospects in the domain

Desirable : Knowledge of broking as well as employee benefits
