Background

Team The Analytics team at JLT India provides a wide-range of services/support to various operating units within the JLT group including JLT Re, JLT Australia, JLT Insurance Management, Bermuda & JLT Specialty units.
Assistant Manager
Role Requirements - At least 2 to 3 years of experience in the Non-Life Reinsurance Actuarial field.
- Should have cleared at least five actuarial papers including CT - 6 (Statistical Methods)
- Candidate is expected to work on non-traditional products and structured (re)insurance solutions.
- Should have a basic understanding of how (re)insurance structures exist in the global markets.
- Have strong interest in working with large and disperse data sets and demonstrate ability to extract and reconcile data
- Have some practical experience in Multivariate Regression Analysis
- Will need to work on Experience & Exposure rating models
- Loss forecasting using simulation techniques
- Estimation of IBNRs using standard actuarial methods or other statistically robust techniques
- Ability to develop new and maintain existing tools either independently (Excel - VBA or R based) or as supervised by reporting manager
- Ability to consolidate and communicate results
- Carry out all other reasonable requests and objectives to an acceptable standard within agreed timescales
- Actively participate in departmental meetings
- Develop an understanding of technical areas as appropriate to role under the guidance of a senior member of the team
- Assist manager in creating and maintain an up to date knowledge data base on property & casualty insurance/reinsurance actuarial procedures
- Proper recording of time and maintenance of timesheets
- Contribute ideas and suggestions for improvements to process templates
- Training and sharing of knowledge with colleagues
- Make steady progress with appropriate professional examinations as agreed with line manager with the support of the company
Technical Skills - Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate data into meaningful insights
- Knowledge and understanding of Property and Casualty (Re)Insurance
- Strong skillset in Excel-VBA and R
- General level of understanding of tools like @Risk, Risk Explorer
General Skills - Good communication and interpersonal skills.
