Job Purpose :

To look into the Coke Oven Operation at the Orissa plant thereby achieving Optimal capacity utilisation with Quality, Cost and adherences to safety norms

Key Responsibility :

1. Coke Oven & By product operation Recovery type Experiences-

a. To plan the stock of the coal.

b. To plan the all operations of Coke Oven Byproduct and its execution.

c. To plan the blending of coal and send to laboratory for analysis for using the materials in the production.

d. To analysis of the Lab report of the blending of the Coal for the immediate use, future use of the materials.

e. To plan and set the proper crushing of the blending materials for production. To plan the thermal parameters of the battery

f. To programme the operation scheduling of pushing and charging of the coke plant

g. To plan the dispatch of the Blast furnace grade coke

h. To plan the dispatch of the Nut coke

i. To plan the dispatch of the Tar. To programme the next day dispatch of the Coke.

j. To programme the next day's coal lifting from the stock to intermediate storage

k. To plan the preventive work of machines and refractory work

l. To programme the next day's refractory job in battery and machines xv) To plan the future expansion of the system

m. To plan and programming of the procurement of the raw material, consumable.

n. Knowledge of operation of PGC, ETP, Exhauster, Desulphurization Unit, Ammonium Sulphate unit, FGC,Secondary gas purification, Booster, Flare Stack, DG, Compressor, Boiler, N2 Unit and PETP.

o. Knowledge of Heating and Commissioning of Recovery type Coke Oven Plant.

p. Preparing daily delay/breakdown/MIS reports. Finding route cause and take corrective action plans of any problem.

- Maintaining battery machines & Cars in good conditions. Ramp up & ramp down planning & its proper Executions. Proper coordination with Operation & maintenance team.

q. Coke Oven Battery Commissioning.Testing of various pipe lines in battery and Byproduct area. Chimney heating up. Battery side heat up & under jet firing with coke oven gas. Change over to Mixed gas heating system

2. Co-ordinating the plant, Vendors and other third Parties

a. Motivating the team to excel and accomplish the assigned production targets.

b. To co-ordinate with corporate team for coal planning and coke dispatch

c. To coordinate with the vendors for dispatch of Coke & Tar

d. To coordinate with supplier for raw materials

e. To coordinate with the Govt. Officials - Director of factory, govt of odisha, Director of Pollution & Environment, Govt. of Odisha, Director of Boiler, Govt. Of Odisha

f. To coordinate with Technology provider - Shougang Int'l for different problem, technical aspect.

g. To coordinate with Indian vendors for procurement of new items.

h. Monitoring competency grids and identify training needs for skill / competency up gradation

i. Competencies/Skill sets for this job Team Management Hydraulic Training/Quality Audits/Energy Conservation

j. To coordinate with Technology provider - Shougang Int'l for different problem, technical aspect.

k. To coordinate with Indian vendors for procurement of new items.

Key Decisions :

- Heating and commissioning of Coke Oven and Byproduct Recovery Plant

- Introduction of different varieties of Coal blends to get the best quality of coke.

- Dispatch of finished products.

- Change of O & M Vendors to reduce the cost.

- Recommending the Top Management for technological modification for output optimization.

Educational/Professional Qualification :

- Bachelor of Engineering ( Chemical), MBA with additional advantage from commercial point of view

Experience :

- 12 - 15 Years of experience in a large STEEL Manufacturing sector, Exposure on Battery Operation, Chemical Plant Operation, Reaction Engineering, Gas Hazards, Biological plan are desirable

Competencies/Skills Required :

- Knowledge about coke oven, good communication, leadership qualities.
