Job Title - Data Architect

The person will be responsible for setting-up of data warehouse facilitating in data and analytics activities. He/she will be responsible for carving out strategy for data warehouse design, creation, integration, governance, planning etc. Must have a sound understanding of relational structures, dimensional data modelling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse and reporting techniques.

Primary Responsibilities: 

- Create Data Warehouse Strategy - Developing the vision and strategy for an integrated enterprise data warehousing initiative for data and analytics activities by partnering with IT head and business unit leadership

- Conduct Business Information Modeling - Formulating enterprise design architectures and standards for Enterprise Data Architecture Model - logical and physical, including conceptual models, relational database designs, Metadata, Security Strategy Framework and Extraction Transformation Load (ETL) process

- Structured Information Aggregation - Creating and scheduling sophisticated ETL routines in SQL containing numerous source types flat file extracts, pulls from numerous relational databases incorporating complex business rules, data filtering, aggregation, conversion, joining, etc.

- Security and Governance of Data Assets: Aid in the security requirements and solutions and as mandated by chief information officer (CIO), implement the security structure of data warehouse. Clearly outline and deploy the access matrix, governance policy and guidelines for the data usage

- Enable enterprise information management: Ensure that the architecture is used as a lens and a filter to identify, prioritize and execute the data and analytic initiatives with clear line of sight to enterprise strategies and business outcomes

Education and Experience:

The role requires a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or information systems

Experience :

Candidates should have:

- A minimum of seven years of experience in database management, with at least three years in data warehouse design and implementation

- Expert knowledge on all aspects of MS-SQL and related SQL procedure languages

- Practical experience using ETL tool (Informatica, Data Stage, Data Manager, SSIS, or other)

- Working knowledge and hands-on experience with business intelligence tools

- Candidates working in manufacturing set-up along with experience in creating DW for BI and analytics would be preferred

Required Knowledge and Skills:

- Data modeling and information classification expertise at the enterprise level

- Understanding of common information architecture frameworks and information models

- System integration experience, including interface design, and familiarity with web-oriented architecture techniques

- Familiarity with data science concepts, as well as MDM, business intelligence and data warehouse design and implementation techniques. Has worked with at least one BI tool

- Experience with distributed management in cloud and hybrid environments. Also an understanding of a variety of data access and analytics approaches

- Strong communication and persuasion skills

- Ability to analyze projects and programs, as well as determine the resources needed to achieve objectives and overcome cross-functional barriers

- Business acumen, and the ability to communicate to executives, business domain stakeholders and technical staff alike
