Responsibilities:
I. Strategy and Compliance:
a. Develop and implement indirect tax strategies aligned with business goals.
b. Ensure compliance with all applicable indirect tax laws and regulations.
c. Monitor changes in tax laws and assess their impact on the business.
d. Optimize tax efficiency through planning and restructuring where applicable.
II. Tax Planning and Management:
a. Provide guidance and support on indirect tax matters to various departments within the organization.
b. Review and approve tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
c. Manage indirect tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
d. Resolve tax disputes and negotiate settlements with tax authorities when necessary.
III. Risk Management:
a. Identify and mitigate risks associated with indirect taxation.
b. Implement controls and processes to minimize tax exposure.
c. Stay informed about tax compliance issues and industry trends.
IV. Reporting and Analysis:
a. Prepare and present periodic reports to senior management on indirect tax matters.
b. Conduct tax analysis and forecasts to inform financial planning and decision-making.
c. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping related to indirect taxes.
V. Stakeholder Management:
a. Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and tax authorities as required.
b. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to address tax-related queries and issues.
VI. Team Leadership:
a. Supervise and mentor a team of tax professionals responsible for indirect taxation.
b. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
c. Provide training and development opportunities for team members
