IT Lead - IT Infrastructure

The IT Lead is the prime planning and execution hand who will be responsible for the implementation and longer term maintenance of our IT infrastructure.

General Accountability/Job Responsibilities

1. Build the server and network management team for 24x7 support and monitoring of systems.

2. Motivate and contribute to the knowledge of other team members; improve productivity.

3. Take ownership of all production servers of an industry leading gaming company.

4. Inventory management and capacity management.

5. Automation of routine tasks.

6. Trouble ticket tracking.

7. Planning and implementing the medium and long term roadmap for the IT department of the company.

8. Implement scalable solutions complying with industry best-standards in various specific areas.

Job Specifications

Qualifications

1. Engineering or equivalent degree from a reputed college.

2. Relevant certifications from industry bodies and vendors.

Knowledge

1. Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack and networking. Cisco certifications will be an added plus.

2. Sound working knowledge of other major protocols like HTTP, UDP, DHCP.

3. Knowledge of Linux systems and architecture. RHEL certifications are a plus.

4. Conceptual and practical knowledge of load balancing, information security, access control, backup management, RDBMS (specifically MySQL).

5. Expert-level knowledge of at least two scripting/programming tools: Bash shell, Awk, Perl, Python, Ruby etc. along with regular expressions.

6. Fundamentals of ITIL concepts like change management and release management.

Experience

1. 6+ years of professional systems & network administration experience.

2. 2+ years of team leadership and mentoring experience.

3. Hands-on with medium footprint production setup for a hosting provider or e-Commerce company.

4. Experience in handling always-on systems with stringent SLAs.

5. Team leadership, shift assignment and roster management, 24x7 support.
