Job Purpose:

To provide comprehensive FP&A support, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting.

The role involves managing and overseeing grant accounting and ensuring proper financial management of grants.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy of financial data, facilitating decision-making processes, and ensuring compliance with reporting standards and internal controls.

It is also focused on delivering insightful financial analysis to support the organization's strategic initiatives and objectives.

Job Outline:

The job involves:

- Manage accounts for institutes, grants, and contributions (including monthly invoicing), ensuring adherence to grant terms, and provide monthly updates to Research Centers & Institutes regarding grants and their utilization.

- Keeping Grant Schedule up to date & provide clarifications for filing FCRA returns.

- Monthly reconciliation of balances from the Bank Statement, Grant Schedule, and SAP system.

- Coordinate with external auditors during grant audits, ensuring that all necessary documentation and information is provided for review.

- Support the FP&A function with the Annual Budget and Quarterly Projections, prepare monthly management reports and schedules, and provide insights and summaries to aid decision-making and planning processes.

- Prepare program wise profitability and cost allocations.

- Oversee the Expense Management System, including budget uploads, coordination for creating Internal Orders (IOs), updating master data, and resolving queries.

- Coordinating with statutory auditors, cost and internal auditors.

- Governance of Expense Management System including budget uploads, coordination for creation of IO's, updating masters, query resolution etc.

- Budget Management through budget uploads in Fund Centers & Internal Orders (IOs), overseeing usage, preparation of schedules & statements, and resolution of budget error inquiries.

- Scrutinizing Actual Financial data for General Ledger (GL), Cost Centre (CC) & Fund usage, spot any irregularities and make necessary corrections.

- Actively participating in and contributing to various departmental initiatives and projects, including SAP enhancements and automation.

- Ensuring compliance with the financial policies and internal controls.

- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting to address specific business needs or requests from leadership.

- On-the-job training of direct reports and reviewing their developmental needs.

Qualification: MCom


Skills:


Technical:

- Accounting, Advanced Excel, Analytical and Presentation skills.

- SAP knowledge.

Behavioural:

- Good Communication Skills, Time Management, Attention to Detail, Proactive Mindset & Collaboration.

Experience:

- 3-5 years in the finance/accounts department of a reputed organisation/practice.

- CA firms.

- Tax authorities.

KPI Grant accounting:

- KRA Timely and accurate accounting, ensuring adherence to grant conditions; preparation of grant utilization reports and co-ordination with grant cell & RCIs.

- Measure Compliances to policies and processes and clean audit reports.

- Weightage 40%.

- KPI Financial Reporting & Budget Management.

- KRA Support during Annual Budgeting & Quarterly Projections, Monthly Financial Reporting.

- Measure Timely & accurate reporting.

- Weightage 40%.

- KPI Internal Audit & Cost Audit support.

- KRA Providing all the necessary inputs to auditors, timely completion of audit & ensuring the audit observations are addressed as per the agreed timelines.

- Measure Adherence to timelines and completion of audit within the specified time.

- Weightage 10%.

- KPI_ People Development, Process improvement and cross collaboration Inter departments.

- KRA Developmental training needs of the team members and resolving issues and queries across departments.

- Measure Ensuring proper coordination : Weightage 10%.
