Equity Valuations Controller

We are looking for someone to use their expertise and join team in Mumbai

- Independently verify the valuation of the Bank's equity derivative and other trading portfolios

- Independently verify the valuation of the Bank's collateral positions

- Ensure that appropriate reserves are calculated given the nature and risks of the portfolio

- Report on the accuracy of reserves and valuations to senior management

- Develop improved testing and analysis processes, based on understanding of the business and positions

- Review and management any work performed by a 3rd party strategic partner.

- Will be integral to the identification and resolution of global valuation related issues ranging from those originating within the Organization and from external regulatory bodies.

- Build strong working relationships within all key areas within the organization, including the trading desks, trade support and business unit controllers

Your team :

The role will be in the Valuations team based in Mumbai and functionally support Equity Valuation Control teams globally.

India team will jointly work with Onshore to execute processes while Onshore will perform final review of the work.

Your experience and skills :

- Bachelors or Master's Degree in Finance/ Engineering/ Mathematics from an institute of repute.

- Strong analytical skills demonstrated by Maths / science qualifications

- Aptitude for computing applications, including Excel, VBA and Access

- Experience in financial derivatives, preferably Equities/IPV

- Strong understanding of basic concepts of pricing derivatives and risks associated

- Knowledge of Cash equities and equity derivative products

Securitised Valuations Controller

We are looking to hire someone in valuations team who can perform below role :

- Perform analysis & review of Independent Price Verification (IPV) results and reserve calculations for complex structured products such as CMBS, US Non Agency RMBS and CLO & ABS Securities

- Interact with multiple stakeholders globally to source IPV numbers for IHC. Analyze and challenge the underlying numbers. Communicate the results with the senior stakeholders

- Understand and assess the impact of various regulatory changes on the IPV process and designing processes for new reporting requirements.

- On short notice and with minimum handholding, start delivering on ad-hoc projects which are invariably complex in nature, involve frequent co-ordination with multiple stakeholders and require higher level of technical prowess.

- Review and challenge existing valuation techniques and proactively implement enhancements which preclude any significant error in future

- Work with the Valuation Methodology team to perform ongoing reviews of valuation techniques to adapt to changing market conditions.

- Work closely with other control groups and front office

Your team :

- The role exists within the Valuation Control Group which is part of Group Finance. The function is responsible for the validation of the final reported valuations of complex structured products through a combination of independent price verification (IPV) and reserving techniques. The function is organized vertically by asset class and also has a Valuation Oversight & Consistency team organized horizontally across all asset classes. The VCG team is spread globally with key centres in India, London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore, with more than 70% of the team in India.
