Job Description Key Performance Area :

- Design and oversee implementation of skills development projects

- Provide technical expertise across project teams and clients under the vertical

- Quality, accuracy and authenticity of technical content in project deliverables

- Technical Capability Building of team

Key Functions & Responsibilities :

Technical Expertise in Projects

- Lead pro-active and reactive business development.

- Provide high quality technical expertise for projects.

- Serve as a technical expert representative across teams and clients.

- Maintain professional development and industry knowledge to ensure that projects reflect best current technical practices.

- Provide technical leadership and coordination for the scaling up of quality, leveraging both the project team's expertise and other technical assistance providers.

Innovative Approaches :

- Bring forward, to management, ideas for new methodologies or value-added changes to existing practices.

- Produce a pipeline as required from time to time and modifications/improvements to existing practices.

- Track and identify new opportunities.

Compliances :

- Lead proposal development

- Ensure that all work submitted as part of the proposal, research and development is technically sound

Capability Building and Knowledge Management :

- Coordinate with the training team to develop technical training modules within the area of expertise

- Support the Knowledge Management initiative by providing technical inputs, write ups, cases, etc.

Promote Technical Capability of IPE :

- Publish in technical / trade journals, write papers on chosen technical expertise, or speak at industry events representing IPE.

- Promote IPE through speaking engagements at industry conferences and involvement in local business organizations

Client Management :

- Communicate with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative technical solutions and strategies.

- Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key client stakeholders and be responsible for achievement of goals.

- Contributing to work planning, monitoring, evaluation and communication with internal and external stakeholders.

- Work with other team members and in coordination with national, state and local government and non-governmental resources to achieve project deliverables.

Qualification & Experience :

- MBA or Postgraduate in other relevant subjects

- At least 12-15 years experience in the skills development sector, with a mix of implementation and consulting.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies :

- Strong understanding of relevant policy and policy formulation processes Multicountry experience in relevant field(s)

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels

- Well-networked with the stakeholders in the skills domain

- Experience of designing/implementing Donor funded and Central/State Government

TA/capacity building programmes :

- A good team player with the ability to work on own initiative

- Capable of taking initiatives on their own with minimum level of supervision;

- Excellent communication skills: able to clearly communicate complex information verbally and in writing;

- Result oriented approach to work;

- Open to working in multi-cultural environments and effectively in small and large teams.

- Experience of conducting Skill-gap, Tracer or other research studies in skills sector.
