Investment Research Analyst - UK Hedge Fund

1. Company: A leading UK based Hedge Fund which focuses on investing primarily in Indian equities

2. Work Location: Mumbai

3. Role: Investment Research Analyst

Job Responsibilities:

- Report to the London-based CEO / portfolio manager

- Analyze investment prospects of companies appropriate for inclusion in a long-biased INDIA equity portfolio

- Develop proprietary models of relevant company financials - e.g., income statement, balance sheet, cash flow

- Publish internal investment research notes

- Meet directly with company management, brokers, industry experts, etc. to aid in the investment process

- Travel as required to meet with companies and to attend industry conferences

- Maintain expertise and knowledge through continued education - e.g., conference attendance, discussions with public companies and other industry sources, reading and analyzing broker and outside research

The Candidate will:

- Have a temperament suited to long-term investing

- Be able to identify exceptional management teams with high standards of governance who are good allocators of capital

- Have an extremely strong fundamental background in accounting and in assessing how a business makes money over a business cycle

- Be able to analyze and simplify complex financial statements

- Have unquestionable integrity and ethics

- Ideally have spent the last 2-5 years (minimum) at a very strong fundamental equity sell-side / buy-side / corporate finance company
