Our client A Global Private Equity investment Fund investing in lower middle-market Indian businesses. Its investments include market leaders in consumer and B2B services.

Desired Profile:

- Our client is specifically looking for candidates from IIM - Ahmedabad / Bangalore

- We are looking for a candidate with a high level of drive and entrepreneurial instinct. The candidate will report directly to the Managing Partners of the firm.

- Mid-market private equity firms normally comprise of small teams with flat structures. An investment & portfolio manager plays a critical role in the investment process, and thus a high level of intellect and sound judgement is a must.

- This role provides opportunities for immense learning and professional development. Our client typically works with first generation professionally qualified entrepreneurs. The investment team therefore has the ability to play a crucial role in the growth of underlying portfolio businesses.

As the Investment & Portfolio Manager:

You will be involved in both the investment management and portfolio management process.

Some of the work that you will be involved in during the investment management process includes :

1. Transaction origination - coordinating with investment bankers and other intermediaries.

2. Screening transactions - leading preliminary conversations with intermediaries and promoters. Coordinating industry research which may involve both primary and secondary research

3. Progressing shortlisted transactions - this involves deep diving into the business as well as financial analysis and arriving at recommendations, to facilitate the investment decision. It also involves coordinating with due diligence agencies appointed by the firm on the due diligence processes.

4. Transaction closure - working with legal and tax/ accounting firms to make sure that the commercial understanding is fully covered and the Fund's interests are protected.

5. Exit from investments - working with investment bankers on running the process for exit from the existing portfolio.
