Investment Operations Role - BFSI

Investment Operations

- 5-7+ years of experience in investment operations, asset management, or a similar financial services role.

- Strong understanding of various financial products, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternative investments.

Trade Support & Execution:

- Oversee and support all operational aspects of trade execution, including trade booking, confirmation, and settlement across various asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.).

- Ensure timely and accurate processing of trades and corporate actions, coordinating with brokers, custodians, and other counterparties.

- Monitor trade matching and settlements to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely settlement.

Reconciliation & Reporting:

- Perform daily/weekly/monthly reconciliation of cash, positions, and portfolios between internal systems and external custodians or administrators.

- Prepare regular investment reports for portfolio managers, clients, and senior management.

- Investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks or discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.

Data Management & Accuracy:

- Maintain and update investment data in internal systems, ensuring that all security and portfolio data is accurate, complete, and up to date.

- Manage data feeds from various vendors and service providers, ensuring accuracy in performance calculations and analytics.

- Ensure that asset prices, market values, and benchmark data are correct and reflect current market conditions.

Risk Management & Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards throughout the investment operations processes.

- Monitor risk controls and ensure operational procedures are aligned with the firm's risk management policies.

- Work with compliance teams to ensure all trades and operational activities adhere to legal and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FATCA, MiFID, Dodd-Frank).

Client & Custodian Relationship Management:

- Serve as the primary point of contact with custodians, fund administrators, and brokers for trade settlements, corporate actions, and operational queries.

- Manage relationships with external service providers, ensuring a high level of service and addressing any operational issues promptly.

System & Process Improvement:

- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors, and improve workflows.

- Participate in or lead system enhancements, including testing and implementation of new software or tools.

- Automate manual processes where possible to improve accuracy and efficiency of operations.

Corporate Actions & Cash Management:

- Monitor and manage corporate actions, including dividends, stock splits, mergers, and rights issues, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

- Oversee cash management activities, including cash forecasting, fund transfers, and liquidity management.

Project Support & Collaboration :

- Work closely with investment teams, portfolio managers, risk management, IT, and finance departments to support the smooth execution of investment strategies.

- Participate in and support ad-hoc projects, including system upgrades, regulatory changes, and operational initiatives.
