Key Activity Areas :

Corporate finance :

- Corporate investment bankers manage the transaction process, assessing the target organization and the impact of the deal. This involves knowledge of legal and regulatory issues, in addition to sound financial knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the client's industry;

Debt capital markets :

- Working with lenders such as financial institutions, agencies and public and private companies in order to design and restructure debt obligations; In debt capital markets, they work in collaboration with financial institutions, banks, and private venture capital funds to design and structure clients- debt obligations, refinancing or restructuring existing arrangements and raising new debts.

Equity capital markets:

- Advising clients on how much capital to raise, from where and when, through research and analysis of products and markets. In equity capital markets, bankers raise capital by detailed research and analysis of equity products and markets, structuring new deals and assessing profitability and risks, and preparing financial and statistical models and reports.

- Newer areas of growth such as IPOs are the part of the company's growth plan.

Duties :

1. Conducting research, maintaining data in spreadsheets and creating reports, analyzing data and making recommendations after thoroughly researching market conditions and developments.

2. Identifying new business opportunities, sourcing deals and participate in Business development activities.

3. Coordinating teams of professionals, including accountants, lawyers and PR consultants and working closely with them.

4. Preparing legal documents, prospectuses and other documentation for the company.

5. Gathering, analyzing and interpreting complicated numerical information; assessing and predicting financial risks and returns.

6. Carrying out financial modeling and Analysis, then developing and presenting appropriate financial solutions to clients; liaising with the promoters, chief executive and chief financial officers of large organizations.

7. Intensive travel may be required in this job. In addition, you may spend time outside work meeting with current and prospective clients and building industry relationships.

An Investment Banker in involved in either or one of the two stages of a typical corporate finance deal:

Origination :


- Responsible for identifying and securing privatization, merger and acquisition deals, managing and investing large monetary funds, and buying and selling financial products on the behalf of their clients, assessing a deal's desirability, which can sometimes be an innovative idea from the bank rather than the client. Financial models are used to simulate possible outcomes. This requires an in-depth understanding of a sector.

Execution : Preparation of the pitch book, investor kit, IM, financial model, structuring and negotiating the detailed terms of a deal, often in liaison with other professionals.

- Although dealing with different, specific business areas, project teams liaise with one another during the two phases of a deal in order to obtain relevant specialist information and market intelligence.

Required Skills and Experience :

1. MBA / CA / CFA

2. Must be from a tier 1 Institution

3. 2 - 5 years of Investment Banking Experience

4. Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-motivated

5. Strong knowledge of Excel including advanced function

6. Experience with cash flow modeling and investment valuation techniques

7. Ability to produce well designed professional looking Powerpoint presentations

8. Strong written and verbal communication skills
