Investment Analyst - Private Equity Firm - Financial Services Sector (2-8 yrs)

Investment Analysis

- Research potential M&A opportunities in Financial Services Sector, including preparing summary reports and market reviews

- Actively participate in financial and operational due diligence on target companies

- Build financial models to assess the value and evaluate risk of potential company and asset portfolio acquisitions, incorporating financial projections, asset-based cash flow and/or ALM analysis where required

- Preparation of investment analyses, including scenario analysis and risk assessment for presentation to internal and external constituents

- Financial Performance Analysis/Risk Management

- Maintenance and ongoing development of portfolio company business models, analyse performance against key value drivers, projected cash flow and valuation

- Ongoing analysis of funding capacity and liquidity requirements of portfolio companies

- Monitor and analyse credit risk and financial performance of portfolio companies

- Monitor and assist in the preparation of partner and investor reports

Experience and Competencies:

- Post graduate in an analytical/mathematically related subject(preferably MBA)

- Minimum 3 year's financial analysis experience/training in a financial institution

- Applied knowledge/experience building bespoke financial models investment analysis, company valuation and/or structured finance

- Applied knowledge of statistics and basic accounting principles

- Strong Excel capabilities (including VBA coding). Access / database knowledge preferred and strong Power Point and Word skills

- Intellectually curious with an ability to learn / grasp new concepts quickly

- Innovative - able to think of creative ideas and approaches

Personal Skills:

- Analytical, methodical and highly numerate

- Strong, clear and precise verbal and written communication skills

- Self-driven, quality and results-oriented

- Able to work individually as well as part of a team

- Resilient - reliable, determined and ambitious with an ability to work well under pressure
