Investment Analyst - Buy side - real estate JV owned by leading global funds

Their pan-India portfolio includes prime city center locations in Bengaluru, Chennai and other important cities across northern and western India.

The company is a joint venture between a European pension fund and a global investment firm.

Job Purpose:

The job purpose of this role is to assist the investments team in research and analysis to help identify new investment opportunities.

Principal Accountability:

1. Market study and documentation:

- Develop quick understanding of the company's business environment, internal organization and ways of working.

- Learn and understand the fundamentals and key operation metrics of retail real estate.

- Perform thorough research of target markets and document in power point presentation.

- Analysis and documentation of key metrics in retail real estate.

- Prepare notes and management presentations that aid decision making.

2. Database, MIS:

- Maintaining relevant database of the retail real estate target market

- Timely updating, sharing the required MIS, as proposed

3. Self-Development:

- Ensure timely updation of the required skills;

- Attending relevant forums / seminars for market updates and market intelligence

Required Skills:

- Ability to translate and document business concepts and requirements

- Strong knowledge of Excel including advanced functions; VBA knowledge is a plus

- Confident self-starter who can work under pressure

- Outstanding analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and take ownership of work

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Strong team player with good inter-personal skills and ability to work with senior professionals

- Experience in business analysis and data analytics will be considered a plus

Experience:

- Real estate experience (investments, capital markets, investment banking, research etc. ) will be an advantage. Retail real estate experience will be a further plus.
