Investment Analyst - BFSI

Profile:

An exciting position, the candidate will work out of the firm's Delhi office, evaluating the deal flow. Motivated and enthusiastic self-starter who works on own initiative. Confident and positive, high-energy, cultured, capable of easily interacting with senior management. Flexible and willing to get involved in many different aspects of the business as required.

Detailed Responsibilities:

- Perform market research to help identify new investment trends and opportunities

- Deal screening: call and/or meet with prospects, evaluate opportunities

- Documentation: summarize call/meeting notes, enter deals into the database.

Perform Due Diligence :

- Gather information from the target company and industry experts

- Research and talk to existing references and customers of the target company

- Research potential competitors to the target company

- Research and talk with technical/business consultants to evaluate the target company's technology including IPs

- Conduct background checks on the current management of the target company

- Perform valuation analysis via modelling

- Help to prepare internal investment memos

Perform Networking :

- Network with peers in other Venture Capital Firms

- Cultivate a network of strategic co-investors globally, by collaborating with international angel networks to participate in early-stage investments

- Conduct secondary research on various industries and evaluate competitive landscape for prospective opportunities

- Be involved in liaising with co-investors, leading the closing process with entrepreneurs and third-party service providers to ensure companies meet all regulatory requirements for receiving foreign investment Add value to existing portfolio companies in India, including strategic advisory support on operations, introductions to mentors, investors, and potential partners, and actively partnering to help companies raise subsequent rounds of funding and/or position themselves for acquisition

- Help support pipeline development, sourcing of early-stage companies in India

Skills Required:

- MBA/ B.Com from top Schools.

- 2-3 years of relevant industry experience

- Outstanding critical thinking, analytical skills, detail-oriented, proactive and self-motivated to design and execute on deliverables and manage investment closing timelines.

- Strong knowledge of Excel including advanced function

- Experience with cash flow modeling and investment valuation techniques

- Ability to produce well designed professional looking PowerPoint presentations

- Strong written and oral communication skills

- Passionate about the India growth story and the start-up ecosystem in the country

- Curiosity and comfort in teaching yourself about varied industries; resourcefulness to develop and maintain awareness of market comparable, transactions, and trends, particularly where data may not be readily available.
