About the Department :

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of the Government of India, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The agency serves as the first point of contact for investors exploring India as a business destination. Invest India is responsible for numerous key government initiatives including Startup India, AGNIi, One District One Product, Project Monitoring Group, and Waste to Wealth among others.

Startup India :

Startup India is a flagship initiative of the Government of India intended to catalyze startup culture and build a strong and inclusive ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship in India. Since the launch of the initiative on 16th January 2016, Startup India has rolled out several programs to support entrepreneurs and transform India into a country of job creators instead of job seekers.

About WAIPA:

The World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) is an international non-governmental organization established in 1995 by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. WAIPA provides the opportunity for investment promotion agencies (IPAs) to network and exchange best practices in investment promotion. In addition, it facilitates sharing of country and regional experiences in attracting foreign investment and enhancing outward investments. India is the elected President of WAIPA for the calendar years 2022 and 2023.

The candidate will be working with the WAIPA team under Startup India.

Key Responsibilities :

Develop an understanding of the business climate in the solar and broader energy sector and support projects with sector expertise

Deep analytical thinking and the ability to formulate company-level and macro-level strategies for overall project implementation

Prepare knowledge reports and pitch decks on market opportunities and other areas of interest as per role requirement

Support in smooth functioning of daily tasks including organising key stakeholder meetings for ongoing project(s) and building necessary knowledge infrastructure for the project(s)

Enable capacity development of stakeholders and handhold them for ongoing project(s) under the vertical

Formalize and execute processes to track quantitative and qualitative KPIs of the team

Build and execute an outreach strategy to create awareness about the project(s) amongst startups in the global ecosystem

Support in strategizing and execution of Global Innovation Platform

Resolve queries and grievances of startups and other stakeholders in stipulated time

Qualifications :

2-4 years of work experience in a front-end role at a consulting firm / developmental agency/ investment promotion agency/ global corporate working in the solar/ energy sector

Post-graduate or graduate degree in business management/ engineering streams from Universities in India/abroad

Deep knowledge of solar and energy sector in the global ecosystem

Strong research, communication, and analytical skills

Strong presentation skills with expertise in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power-Point

Hands-on experience in project execution independently, and in teams

Ability to work in a challenging environment, with multiple projects, and strict timelines
