Inventory Manager - Category Management - eCommerce - IIM/IIT/ISB/BITS/FMS

Overview :

- The category team needs a person who can own inventory management and returns for the entire business.

- The person is expected to function as an 'investment manager' who considers each product/inventory unit as his/her investment and takes quick data-driven decisions to improve inventory ROI.

Key responsibilities :

1. Readymade inventory :

a) Inventory stocking algorithm - critically analyse the restocking algorithm, improve it and consistently check it for improvement or fixes

b) Inventory scaling - Plan inventory ramp up in line with revenue goals, budget constraints, and important event targets

c) Inventory liquidation - Monthly/weekly/daily inventory liquidation plan by taking data-driven decisions in conjunction with marketing and category planning team to achieve inventory dispatch and inventory size targets

d) Eyes for the operations team - Provide insights to production teams for prioritization based on sale and stock covers at product level; work with production team on projects to improve their time to in inventory numbers.

2. Fabric inventory :

a) Inventory stocking algorithm - critically analyse the restocking algorithm, improve it and consistently check it for improvement or fixes

b) Scaling decisions in conjunction with campaign planning team - work as interface between category planning and fabric purchase functions to recommend scaling or killing of fabrics for a season/campaign/calendar period.

c) Inventory liquidation - work with category team on taking decisions on how to liquidation non-moving fabric inventory through pricing or category interventions

3. Returns :

a) Identifcation of generic and specific reasons for returns by deep diving on category, pattern or SKU levels and quickly identifying root causes

b) Coordination with design and production for problem solving key return reasons at product level

c) Setting processes for returns prevention and quick root causing to minimize returns with all teams

Key skill sets required :

1. Very high level of ownership - treats inventory like his/her own investment

2. Comfortable with number crunching and has a good pair of hands on excel

3. Excellent analytical ability and proven experience of solving problems through data

3. Prior experience in swift/micro inventory decision-making, preferably in fashion

4. High on drive and enthusiasm

5. Team player

Qualifications :

1. Tier 1 college - IIM/IIT/DCE/BITS/FMS

2. 3-5 years of experience in inventory management or similar fields

3. Experience with fashion industry (offline/online) will be preferred
