We leverage our convening and amplification platform Sankalp to augment our effort to search, seed, support, and scale impact enterprises across sectors. We have worked with more than 300 clients on over 500 consulting and research engagements across multiple geographies. We are a group of 7000 + professionals in offices across India, Kenya, and Indonesia.

About Financial Services Sector :

Within Financial Services, our focus has been on financial inclusion i.e, access to finance for low income communities, MSMEs, early stage social enterprises, and women. Accordingly, we intervene in areas like Microfinance, clean energy finance, MSME finance, agri finance, housing finance and digital financial services. We have assisted NBFCs, MFIs and Fintechs in areas like business strategy, operations setup, digital and business transformation, process re-engineering, distribution expansion, risk management, scorecards deployment and products design. We are also instrumental in designing innovative financing structures based on blended finance structures to support flow of capital into un-served and underserved segment.

Key Roles and Responsibilities :

Project Execution :

- Manage delivery of projects in the FS sector in line with client expectations and company standards

- Build solutions relevant to the Financial Services sector and help take them to market

- Understand client requirements, develop scope, approach & methodology, delivery schedule with the ability to clearly define execution milestones

- Undertake detailed financial and technical analysis where required including complete business planning and financial modelling

- Lead project execution, team discussions, and guide team to drive successful execution in line with identified approach data from primary and secondary sources, guide research and analysis as required.

- Deliver client presentations and manage client expectations

Business Development :

- Identify whitespaces and opportunities for the Financial Services team to meaningfully contribute towards solving challenges for low-income communities in developing countries

- Regular tracking of business development opportunities coming up in the FS sector.

- Co-create strategic and operational plans for the team in collaboration with Sector Lead and corporate strategy team

- Lead EOIs and Technical proposal submissions and contribute to the final composition of EoIs and proposals preparation for identified opportunities

- Engage with senior experts internally and externally on aspects related to the project

Brand Building :

- Support the Sector Lead in preparation of concept notes and whitepapers for publications and internal consumption.

- Build institutional relations and the Intellecap brand in the sector

- Contribute to outreach activities such as preparing brochures, newsletter, writing online posts etc.

Be part of the team that contributes towards developing the domestic and global strategy for the consulting practice at Intellecap. Undertake relevant national and international field travel and exposure as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements :

- Degree/Masters or equivalent from reputed institutes in Kenya/abroad

- Minimum of 7-12 years of experience in management and business consulting with experience in Financial Inclusion, MSME Finance, Fin-Tech and Digital transformation, Microfinance, blended finance, and business development.

Essential Skills :

- Strong problem solving and analytical skills both quantitative and qualitative;

- Exposure to business plan creation and building a business model would be desirable;

- Ability to synthesize information and assist in creating insightful recommendations for clients

- Excellent client and team management skills, and commitment;

- Good MS-Office skills (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint) and self-reliant in developing and formatting documents.

- Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

- Capable of taking initiatives on their own with minimum supervision.

- Excellent communication skills: able to clearly communicate complex information.

- Open to working in multi-cultural environment and effectively in small and large teams.

- Fluency in English: able to deliver messages effectively verbally and in writing.

- Able to work in tight timelines.
