AGM/DGM - In Licensing (Emerging Markets)


Department and Location : Corporate Development, Ahmedabad


Reporting To: Head-In-licensing and Portfolio


Purpose of Job:


Define and drive the licensing strategy primarily for Australia to expand our portfolio of pharmaceutical products under the most competitive terms within strict timelines, to identify and perform global business development opportunities, assess the commercial value, , identify the strategy that grants the quickest access to the market and negotiation of offers along with the license and supply, distribution, co-development and contract manufacturing agreements


Specific Job Responsibilities:


1. Propose & execute strategies to expand our portfolio for generics/specialities via In-Licensing in Emerging Markets with primary focus on Australia


2. Lead end to end discussion to:


- Identify and categorise partners for in licensing


- Analyse market opportunities assessing their value through comprehensive business cases


- Negotiate in licensing, distribution, technology transfer or collaboration agreements


- Schedule regular TC/VC and face to face meetings with licensors worldwide s


- Generate market intelligence gathering products, sources, development status and market formation


- Business case finalization


- Keep updated track record of licensing projects and payment milestones


- Define the quickest path towards launch bearing in mind the intellectual property scenario and regulatory procedures feasible


- Coordinate all activities required after the signature of the contract till launch of the product


3. Participate in quarterly meetings with the Portfolio department to revise priorities for molecules to in license/acquire or develop, updating the wish list


4. Prepare every month an update of the licensing activity for HOD.


5. Present the projects to license along with the corresponding business cases to our Senior Management every month, in order to seek for approval

- Regulated markets BD experience, Australia experience preferred

- Experience of leading and coordinating a departments team


- Experience of working across multiple time zone and in global business cultures


- Experience in negotiation & deal closure


- Good understanding of the way the key pharma industry's drivers are influencing the launch of products: intellectual property, regulatory, price evolution, retail and hospital channel


- Know the relevant players to deal with in the market


- Good understanding on regulated and advance market regulatory guidelines and market intel


Relevant Professional / Educational Background:


- Pharma


- MBA


- English (Advance)
