CPA Insurance Accounting
Experience in INSURANCE ACCOUNTING is a MUST for this job.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily monitoring of general ledger accounts
- Review and assess thresholds for assets impairment
- Act as the 1st level review / quality control and escalate as needed
- Develop automated tools to be used in the review process
- Perform reviews of the month/quarter end financial statement reporting process
- Review US GAAP, Bermuda Stat, and Economic Balance Sheet financial statements
- Ensure Cedant reporting is accurate
- Coordinate with the broader team on deliverables across multiple teams and functions
- Support new business activities by evaluating financial statements
- Provide support, for the annual audit, quarterly regulatory filings, and board meetings
- Provide ad hoc support as necessary
Requirements:
- US / India Life and Retirement Products exposure. Traditional and /or Annuity products
- CA / CPA or on track to becoming
- 3 to 5 years of insurance accounting experience related to month end closings, annual audit process, and regulatory filings (preferred to have experience with the Bermuda Monetary Authority filings)
- Experience with designing and creating reconciliation tools and variance reporting
- Strong analytical skills and ability to adopt a creative approach to solving complex process problems
- Ability to manage multiple work assignments and meet time commitments
- Strong oral and written communication skills
