Job description

Role: Equity Research Analyst (FMCG)

Responsibilities:

- To develop detailed fundamental understanding across companies in FMCG sector

- To create and maintain earnings, valuations, and financial models of the companies in the tracking universe

- To analyse data in order to identify emerging opportunities in the listed space, and to identify risks and create justifications for the recommendations on the stock

- To provide research ideas through an in-depth study & analysis of the companies

- To provide BUY/SELL/HOLD recommendations and present findings to institutional Fund Managers

- To track closely the quarterly result updates, company sector developments, and management meeting notes

- To maintain constant coverage of industry-related news, trends, and developments

- To build relationship with investor relations team of companies in FMCG sector

- To build information network with other Analysts, Family offices and Fund Managers

- To devise and perform your own primary research methods, keeping abreast of the trends and sentiments in the market

Desired Candidate Profile:

Experience:

- 3+ years of relevant experience in research with family offices, mutual funds or other buy side or sell side entities

- Knowledge of Bloomberg and technical analysis of stocks

- Strong research background across all disciplines: Fundamental, Technical and Quantitative

- Proven experience in developing and implementing effective research related processes

Education: CA / CFA or equivalent

Personal Attributes:

- Proactive with a strong propensity to achieve targets

- Strong quantitative, analytical, and logical skills

- Strong MS Excel skills, with experience in preparing presentation quality documents and executive level summaries, with detail orientation

- Ability to work, both independently and as team member, with effective collaboration

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
