Innovation Head - Automotive Industry (15-19 yrs)
Looking for experience in Innovation, Ideation, Idea management, Mobility, IoT, Fleet management, Startup interactions, PoC/Pilot testing, Partnership/ Alliances, Open innovation, Innovation culture, etc.
- 15-18 years of experience with strong exposure to Innovation domain
- M.S/MBA/Ph.D/Post-Graduate with top tier College/University
- Proven executive leadership experience
- Proven innovation & entrepreneurship expertise in automotive/tyre/mobility industry
- Strong leadership and people management capabilities
- Experience in visioning and delivering customer facing innovative initiatives
- Expertise in building the innovation operating model, processes and tools
- Strong experience with innovation vision, strategy, portfolio and funding mechanism
- Experience in developing events, metrics & motivators for enhancing innovation culture
- Demonstrated success with creating a new product/ technology/ business led
Key responsibilities
- Owns up end to end innovation responsibilities
- Works closely with MD's office to define strategic roadmap for innovation within BSID
- Be the face of innovation for BSID within and outside the organization
- Collaborates with BU and other functional heads at a strategic level to drive innovation culture and agenda across the organization
- Accountable for managing innovation budget in optimal manner
- Designs innovation specific initiatives and ensures successful execution of the same
- Identifies risk/detractors in driving innovation across organization and devices mitigation strategies to overcome the same
- Builds and grows innovation organization as a strategic unit within BSID
- Leverages innovation as a lever to strengthen BSID's brand in the market
- Develops innovation strategy and portfolio in alignment with business strategy
- Plans for 3 - 5 year innovation roadmap and identifies budget and capability needs to execute the roadmap
- Chairs core innovation center governance meetings for - idea prioritization, stage- gate, portfolio finalization, business case/ PoC/ Pilot approvals, frameworks/ criteria updates, internal and external resource needs
- Defines monitoring and reporting structure for innovation projects, ensures cross functional collaboration
- Be part of Executive Leadership reviews and presents Innovation center plans, progress and gets buy-in on support needs
- Recommends appropriate route for commercialization of successful pilots
- Owns up development of strong partner network across key identified capabilities over a period of 2 - 3years
- Mentors early stage start-ups and academia partners to bring in suitable value to BSID at substantially lower cost
- Participates as a presenter or panel member in the innovation events outside BSID
- Conducts workshops within BSID to enhance innovation and creative thinking mindset
- Strategizes for future capability, hiring roadmap and training needs
- Continuously scans for corporate venturing opportunities and evaluates relevant ones for strategic investment
- Engages with customers, suppliers, star-ups and academia through co-creation events
- Communicates progress of innovation across organization through regular touchpoints and / or Newsletter
