Job Title : Infrastructure Solution Architect

Overview

The Infrastructure Architecture function partners with Application Delivery Architecture to:

1. Deliver high quality technology platforms with tiered service levels

2. Deliver cost savings & efficiency through reduced complexity

3. Improve time to market for delivery of services

4. Enable effective regulatory, audit & security controls

5. Drive productivity & sustainability

Infrastructure Architecture is comprised of:

- Enterprise Architects responsible for 3-5 year technical strategy, underpinning the Future State Architecture.

- Technical Architects aligned by each technology to manage the infrastructure services, vendor engagement and product lifecycles.

- Solution Architecture aligned to each Global Business to manage & optimise the portfolio of infrastructure services used, driving operational improvement & cost efficiencies and providing cost effective infrastructure architecture & designs which align with over all technical strategy.

Additional Essential Experience

Technical

Have a system engineering background and the ability to compare and contrast different solutions to meet a business requirement. Provide technical thought leadership in evaluation of new technologies to meet business requirements and influence key stakeholders leading to adoption. Have in-depth conceptual functional and non-functional knowledge of:

- OLTP Databases (Oracle RAC, DB2, SQL, VCS)

- OLAP, ODS and Data Warehouse technologies and platforms

- Middleware (IBM MQ & Platform)

- Integration (Message Broker, R2DS, GSI)

- Web applications servers (Apache HTTP Server & Tomcat, IIS, Websphere)

- Networking (Cisco, TCP/UDP, Broadcast/Multicast, LAN/WAN)

- Storage (EMC SAN - FC, FCoE, iSCSI, SRDF; NetApp NAS - CIFS, NFS)

Additional Beneficial Experience:

- Server Operating systems internals, benchmarking and performance tuning (Linux, Windows, Solaris), CPU Microarchitectures (Intel, AMD, SPARC) & Server Virtulization (VMware, Xen, Hyper-V, KVM)

- In Memory Distributed Data Grid (Oracle Coherence)

- End to end agile infrastructure architecture across all layers

- Swift network topology (SAG Swift Alliance Gateway)

- Passion for technology & understanding how things work
