Job Title: Corporate Counsel

Job Location: Bangalore

Responsibilities:

- Business Contracts: Manage a team of counsels across defined geographies; approve solutions proposed by junior counsel to resolve contractual issues; negotiate with external clients and vendors to resolve contractual deadlocks. Draft contract templates for all lines of business of the organization. Manage RFP/Tender issues with the customers across all jurisdictions.

- Dispute Resolution: Issue briefing notes to internal stake holders; execute litigation strategy; independently instruct external counsel in the handling of contentious matters.

- Organization Planning & Budgeting: Identify needs with respect to personnel and external law firms for their defined geographical area.

- Advisory: Advise middle management on general legal matters; clarify queries related to internal policies. Provide general legal advice and support to other functions e.g. human resources, finance, IT, admin, corporate services, research & development, procurement, real estate & facilities management.

- People Management: Manage practice specific junior counsel, if any, in the relevant geographical areas. Mentor junior counsel in order to build capabilities with in the general legal function. Provide effective legal support to the sales/consulting/ education & training team in RFP responses, contract preparation and negotiation.

- Knowledge Management: Contribute research papers in all areas of law and areas of specific domain expertise to the knowledge repository in order to enhance the knowledge base of Infosys Legal function

- Training: Provide training to junior level counsel and middle management across Infosys Group.

Required Skills/ Experience:

- Educational Requirements (Must have)

- LLB or LLM with 7 + years of experience in review and negotiating commercial contracts preferably with exposure to IT /ITES Industry.

- The candidate should have an excellent academic background with a Law Degree from a reputable university/ institution

Skills & Certifications

- Ability to draft/ NEGOTIATE and close large commercial agreements (business process outsourcing services, software license, managed services, consulting services and other commercial contracts) independently and efficiently

- ability to manage large team of juniors in day-to-day mentoring and monitoring to ensure compliance to internal contract review guidelines;

- strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with the business team and with senior management team;

- high level of energy; multi-task and prioritize work, creative, proactive, accountable, responsible attitude, results-oriented thinker

- Excellent understanding of internal processes and systems of various enterprise functions.

- Excellent understanding of Delivery operation

- Excellent Business Communication.
