Job Description:

The Research Director is a market research and strategy consulting professional responsible for the performance, management, and development of an integrated client centered research team. The Research Director is responsible for delivering exceptional thinking and quality service on every project in order to create significant impact on the client's business. To ensure these outcomes, the Research Director is integral to the proposal and story development and presentation process as well as having traits of an excellent leader, researcher and consultant with a single or multiple domain expertise.

Responsibilities Handled:

The Research Head will lead and manage multiple complex market research projects from the proposal stage through final report delivery. Specifically, this position will develop proposals, design studies (including sample/ weighting construction, questionnaire construction, analysis and reporting plans), report findings from complex market research studies, and effectively manage clients by liasioing with the Business Development team managers. In addition, the Research Director will mentor more junior team members, Reportee domain managers. This includes:

- Provide input into proposed research design including exploration of alternative methodologies. Support proposal development including proposal writing and assisting with cost estimation/price development.

- Design survey research instruments that will answer the research and business objectives as defined in the proposal stage.

- Directs market research supporting IndustryARC to provide actionable insights at strategic and operational levels.

- Collaborate with the Execution project team from design and programming through to report analysis and production. Monitor and report out on study performance in terms of schedule, quality, and budgets.

- Directs competitive intelligence via regular market scans and third party source, as well as reporting findings that may impact IndustryARC strategic decisions.

- Design and prepare data analysis plans, design reports. Synthesize and integrate large amounts of data into compelling, concise deliverables that meet the client's needs/expectations.

- Effectively present to a broad client audience. Work with mid to senior level clients on various aspects of the research (design, timing, reporting, etc.), providing project updates, and delivering above and beyond client expectations.

- Directs Voice of the Customer research, performance reporting and recommendations for improving the customer experience.

- In collaboration with marketing, sales and business development, products and customer service, keep IndustryARC management and Business Development managers informed about changing customer behaviors and buying preferences and patterns.

- Acts as consultant within IndustryARC on market research issues. Presents research findings and implications to key internal and external stakeholders.

- Mentor junior research staff, teaching and enhancing their understanding of the research process and building their research acumen.

Essentials of an Ideal Candidate - Experience & Skills:

- Minimum of 12 years in the market research industry on either the client or supplier side; ideally with experience in a variety of techniques including qualitative, segmentation, concept testing, trends and on innovation related projects. Global research experience a must.

- Experience with different advanced statistical approaches including Discrete Choice Modeling, Max Diffs, and regression analysis

- Demonstrated experience in emerging market research practices such as data visualization, online qualitative and quantitative surveys, big data analysis, text-social-mobile analytics, loyalty measures, crowdsourcing or community development.

- Experience in primary, secondary and customer satisfaction processes.

- Outstanding client management with the ability to work directly with experienced researchers as clients.

- Excellent project management skills and understanding of data analysis tools and technique.

- Strong understanding of questionnaire construction is a must.

- Professional demeanor, high level of integrity and ability to manage positive working relationships across all areas of the company.

- Ability to work in partnership with Business Development team to win new accounts or grow existing clients.

- A flexible work style and be willing to adapt to change.

- Ability and experience to mentor junior staff with varying jobs and skill levels.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

- MBA, Masters of Market Research, or Advanced Degree in Social Science preferred.
