About the Digital Business Unit at IndusInd :

The mandate of the Digital Business Unit at IndusInd Bank is as follow s:

- Building customer centric products with human centered design principles for retail Individual and micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) customer segments

- Build innovative products and propositions backed with problem solving mindset to discover and solve latent needs of customers

- Build Embedded Finance (Banking as a Service) applications

- Ensure designs are highly available, highly modular, highly scalable and highly secure

- Drive digital business

- Some of the applications managed by the Digital Business Unit include IndusMobile (bank's mobile app for retail individual clients), Indusnet (net banking application of the bank), IndusMerchantSolutions app, Whatsapp Banking, Chatbots, easycredit for Individuals, easycredit for Business Owners, savings, current account and fixed deposit online platforms. There are many more innovative digital products and solutions in pipeline

- The unit's objectives are three fold - (a) Drive better customer experience and engagement (b) transform existing lines of businesses and (c) build new digital only or banking as a service led digital business models

About the Role :

- The role is expected to use analytical tools to identify opportunities to grow overall assets as well as identify opportunities to manage risk.

- The role is therefore expected to define risk management framework across client lifecycle - acquisition, portfolio management and collections; across retail lending products catering to Retail and potentially mid market segments.

Job Responsibilities :

- Ongoing identification of opportunities to grow assets on the back of digital acquisition models enabled by advanced analytics.

- Identification of opportunities to mitigate risk and attain risk cost benchmarks as stipulated across portfolios.

- Publish monthly portfolio thematic with heatmap and conduct reviews on the same with relevant stakeholders from Business and Risk to align on opportunities to grow business and mitigate risk.

- Evaluate partnership opportunities in various models - aggregator led, co-lending, etc and monitor and manage portfolio originated with partners on an ongoing basis in collaboration with various business units.

- Incorporate alternate data on an ongoing basis to strengthen fraud and risk management framework as well as collaborate with fintechs in the domain of artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to improve efficacy of models & scorecards.

- Lead development of new risk scorecards for new and existing products.

- Build advanced analytical decision engines for underwriting and cross-sell leveraging traditional regression or machine learning or alternative data led models.

- Design analytical Collections / Early Warning System strategies e.g. segment-based Collections strategies, settlement scorecards, loan restructuring approach, limit modification approach, etc.

- Collaborate across other functions (e.g. Risk, Digital, Technology) to implement the analytical decisions.

- Provide ongoing guidance and coaching to data scientists in the team, ensure timely training and skills improvement of the team.

- Support in regulatory reporting and bring relevant data into Enterprise Data Warehouse for reporting & analytics.

Education, Work Experience, Key Skill Set Requirements :

- Master's Degree in Management, Statistics or Economics or Bachelors in Engineering

- 18+ years of experience in similar role.

- Have lead a team of Analysts / decision scientists in the previous roles.

- Entrepreneurial and Collaborative approach

- Ability to work with cross functional stakeholders across Business, Risk, Technology, etc. and influence to drive desired outcomes.
