Role & Responsibilities:

- This role provides strategic vision, expertise, education, and leadership in the development of business-focused data-driven solutions. The role will be responsible for understanding and deriving insights from the thousands and millions of data points collected. This role would be responsible for maintaining raw data and for building models from scratch, using this data.

- Independently leads data analysis and modelling projects from project/sample design, business review meetings with internal stakeholders deriving requirements/deliverables, reception and processing of data, performing analysis and modelling to final reports/presentations, communication of results and implementation support.

- Evaluation of external vendors and technologies as appropriate.

- Relationship builder with internal teams, IT and other senior levels.

- Able to translate complex analytics/data sciences concepts in terms that are easily understood and accessible to business at various levels of seniority and sophistication with the material.

- Change tolerant, tenacious and persistent, pushes past obstacles.

- Quickly masters new disciplines, concepts, and technologies.

- Demonstrates to stakeholders how analytics can be implemented to maximize business benefits. Provides technical support, which includes strategic consulting, needs assessments, project scoping and the preparation/presentation of analytical proposals.

- Utilizes advanced statistical techniques to create high-performing predictive models and creative analyses to address business objectives.

- Proactively and effectively communicates in various verbal and written formats with internal stakeholders on data specification, model implementations, opportunities, questions. Resolves problems and removes obstacles to timely and high-quality project completion.

- Create project milestone plans to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Provides high quality ongoing business support; answering questions, resolving problems and building solutions.

- Actively contributes to analytics strategy by contributing ideas, preparing presentation material for internal stakeholders.

- This role is a temporary position for 6 months for Operation Dept. in Mumbai. This role would get involved in one or more projects requiring data analytics for structured / unstructured data across Operations. The role would be extendable post 6 months based on performance and requirement.

Mind-Set Required:

- Graduate-level degree or MBA or comparable with concentration in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, computer science, mathematics, economics, or operations research.

- Track record of successfully delivering on analytics from concept through to fruition.

- 5+ years of experience with statistical modelling using large and complex datasets in a business setting.

- 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry is preferred though not necessary.

- Strong verbal and written communications skills, listening and teamwork skills, and effective presentation skills.

- Programming experience is preferred though not necessary.

- Experience with data visualization (e.g. Tableau) will be preferred though not necessary.

- Proficiency in creating effective and visually appealing PowerPoint presentations.

- Expert on deriving Insights from large data - Should have demonstrated capability on deriving insights from large structured / unstructured data sources.

- Creative / Innovative - Can take a sideways look at data. Always looking for better ways to see information. - Uses tools and resources to extend beyond what is merely expected. Should be able to provide concrete examples of improving a business process.

- Good communicator, visualization expertise, storytelling skills - Needs to be able to communicate effectively with people who don- t - speak the same language,- tell a story through data, and use visual communications effectively.

- Open-minded - To innovate, ability to look beyond what came before.

- Analytical, Structured & Evidence based thinker - Takes nothing at face value, meticulous fact checker. Should be able to lay out a plan for a data analysis project and lay out key dependencies/challenges where applicable.

- Independent Questioning & Intellectual Curiosity - Thinks for oneself and not afraid to ask the - dumb questions- . Doesn- t always expect to be spoon-fed the work that needs to be done. Builds on past experience, takes ideas and runs with them. Is very self-sufficient.

- Intuitive.

- Adaptive - Flexible and embracing new technologies and ways of thinking in order to solve complex problems in novel ways. Flexible in overcoming setbacks - the willingness to abandon one idea and quickly pivot to another. Flexible, patient, and persistent.

- Technical tools: Expertise on tools like Minitab, SPSS, R, Tableau etc.

- Advanced Statistics
