Who are we looking

SVP, Finance (Non-profit) responsibilities include overseeing cash flow planning, preparing and reviewing budgets and tracking metrics. Financial statement preparation.

Job Responsibility :

Strategy, Planning and Management

- Act as a (Non-profit) finance and strategic business partner to the senior executive leadership team.

- Assess and evaluate the financial performance of an organization with regard to short term and long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts.

- Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plans of the organization.

- Identify, acquire and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information. Evaluate departments and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing working efficiency.

- Communicate, engage and interact with the Board of Trustee and Co-founders.

- Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the organisation plan for growth and expansion.

- Select and engage consultants, auditors and CSR donors.

- Recruit, interview and hire finance, accounting, and compliance staff as required.

- Implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by the senior leadership team.

Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss by entity and division, forecast vs. budget by division

- Review and analyze monthly financial projects and provide recommendations.

- Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual operating budget.

- Manage financial planning and analysis department. Supervise creation of reports, software implementation and tools for budgeting and forecasting.

Audit:

- Managing the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organisation is compliant with accounting standards.

- Managing and overseeing the Organisations banking arrangements.

- Presenting results to non-finance people to understand

- Managing and overseeing the Audit affairs of the organisation and liaising with the external audit firm.

Tax Management:

- Direct tax returns, TDS. Monitor timely deposit of taxes like TDS and statutory returns within the prescribed time. Checking of Tax Audit Reports, income tax returns, reply to notice received from Income tax department and appearing before all tax authorities.

- Handling assessment appeals of income tax cases. To support and provide the solutions to the problems to other departments regarding statutory matters to save tax in commercial contracts and GST/income tax optimization.

KPI :

- Financial Ratio Analysis: Conducting financial ratio analysis provides organisation with critical financial insight into the organization's overall financial health as well as liquidity.

- Operating Reserves: To ensure the organization's financial health continues in the future, it's critical for non-profits to keep a reserve for unbudgeted expenses or possibly even to capitalize on growth opportunities.

- Program Efficiency: An important metric for donors, in particular, is the relative ratio of program cost versus operational expenses. The non-profit Financial Manager's responsibility is to keep the organization's mission, and understanding how those finances compare to administrative costs (e.g., payroll, office rent/utilities/equipment, insurance, etc.) can be a fruitful effort.

- Fundraising Expenses & Contributions: understand the relies on heavily donor contributions and grants, understand the relationship between total contributions and expenses actually used for fundraising.

Position Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

- Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.

- Demonstrated progression in financial leadership and supervisory roles with at least three years of experience managing the finances of a non-profit organization, preferably international with a mix of funding sources.

- Strong knowledge of: general ledger, banking, job cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and non-profit taxes and registrations.

- Proficient in the use of financial software programs and Microsoft Office applications.

Thorough understanding of non-profit accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP).

- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and balance day-to-day tasks with strategic, long-term goals and timelines.

- Adept at presenting complex financial information in a clear manner to board members, senior management, staff members and others.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate diplomatically in a diverse, multi-cultural environment.
