IHS - Analyst/Sr Analyst - Energy Sector

The Analyst will have interest in the energy sector, excellent research ability as well as a proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (medium to advanced level required). Background on energy-oriented education and work experience a plus.

This is an excellent opportunity for young professionals with a limited number of years of experience to pursue professional growth as a supporting member in an established firm. Training on the industry will be provided.

Responsibilities:

- Screen market news and developments daily and compiling and categorize them to present in a usable format to EI professionals in other offices worldwide

- Working as a team with EI professionals in other global locations, conduct primary research on market developments, trends and companies

- Periodically highlight key findings, trends and conflicting information/data for EI analysts- review and attention

- Enter data obtained from the research into databases

- Review data and trends to confirm and validate accuracy

- Working as a team with EI professionals in other global locations, contribute to research and production of subscription and consulting work products

- Assist in training, monitoring and mentoring more junior colleagues

Desired Skills and Experience

- Reading and writing skills in international business English, good communication skills, and a natural bent for multi-tasking and good organization - Strong quantitative and analytical skills

- Comfortable working with large amounts of data and having attention to detail

- Excellent research and problem-solving skills

- A positive attitude and the ability to work independently and as a team

- Confident self-starter capable of managing workload

- Bachelor's degree required; degree in business/journalism/engineering/sciences/math is a plus

- 1 - 7 years of prior experience as a business analyst or engineer in the energy industry or relevant related field

- Proficiency in additional languages apart from English would be a plus, but is not required

- Valid work permit or citizenship in India.
