IDBI Federal Life Insurance - Equity Research Analyst - Auto Sector

Job Specifics :

This role is responsible for managing the performance of the equity schemes of the company's AUM. The person is expected to manage the equity portfolios with the objective of delivering returns that are superior to that of the defined benchmarks, while at the same time manage the portfolio risks through timely stock-specific action.

1. Tracking developments in economy, sectors and stocks

- Scanning newspapers and websites to gain relevant information (information that can have an impact on stock prices).

- Scanning broker research and studying stock/sector/economy reports, discussing key research reports with author/analyst.

- Discussing reports/developments with in-house analyst (if there is one) and come to a considered judgment on any required portfolio action.

- Meeting companies in the investible universe and other allied sectors / industries to assess key trends /developments.

2. Making necessary changes in the portfolio

- Decide and Initiate trades to reflect the desired changes in the portfolio.

- Follow up with dealing team and ensure that the trades get executed.

3. Periodic analysis of portfolio performance and deciding on corrective action

- Carry out attribution analysis and assess strategies that worked and that didn't.

- Decide on the corrective steps in terms of Stock selection, Sector allocation and Asset allocation, so that the portfolio is best positioned to perform better than the defined benchmarks, over the medium term.

Required Experience :

- 5 to10 years

- Exposure to and familiarity with multiple sectors of the economy

- Understanding of business models and company fundamentals Primarily in Auto sector.

- Stock selection and ability to beat the defined benchmarks .
