Job description - 

- Responsible for assuring that individual applications remain in line with business needs and requirements in their structure and function. 

- Establishes and maintains technology standards, and evaluates and directs new technology designs. 

- Provides technical architectural expertise, playing a vital role in designing, enhancing, implementing and scaling application platforms.

- Works closely with the business to translate business requirements into application design that fit the overall business architecture. 

- Designs application frameworks enabling effective realization of today's and future business requirements. 

- Drives engineering and architectural best practices broadly throughout the organization.

Key Work Accountabilities / Responsibilities for the Position Holder:

- Assesses complex technical challenges, defines the applications required to operationalize the business imperatives.

- Defines how the components of all the applications relate to each other, and how the facilities will support the capability or the business area.

- Ensures the application components align with the application architecture and meet application performance goals. Leads performance management reviews measuring attainment of established performance goals.

- Performs technology due diligence on software development and architecture topics.

- Provides data to senior management on the new trends and threats in the Software space.

- Drives cross functional technical alignment on the definition, understanding & architecture of technologies and solutions in several key areas, to include cross capability, cross release issues, and issues affecting application integrity.

- Works with cross-functional teams, product management, development and operations to architect innovative operating alternatives that form the overall operating strategy and business architecture.

- Analyzes the impact of process or technical changes on existing processes, tools, and interfaces based on knowledge of inter dependencies of related functions and systems.

- Creates and maintains the formal documentation throughout the design process including Blueprint, Software Architecture, Software Specifications, and Development Environment Documents.

- Ensures adequacy and quality of process controls and procedure documentation.

- Serves as technical expert on new products and technology.
