- To support the Senior Credit Policy Manager in the implementation and communication of credit policy and procedures, principally supporting the UK Wholesale Credit Risk approvals teams, to ensure that Credit Risk: - contributes to the development of business - maintains a stable lending portfolio with due regard for risk, reward and balance sheet management considerations, in line with Group and European policy objectives - maintains appropriate credit standards in the approval and control of lending Role Context - The prime objective is to assist with ensuring that an appropriate balance is achieved between income generation and risk, that credit standards are observed whilst at the same time being fully responsive to the requirements of stakeholders comprising internal and external customers and regulators. - The jobholder supports and contributes to the work undertaken by the Portfolio, Policy, Reporting and Regulatory Control team in pursuit of its principal responsibilities - The jobholder's main stakeholders are senior management, including Senior Risk Officers. - The Portfolio, Policy, Reporting and Regulatory Control team will, where necessary, liaise with other business areas/support areas where credit expertise and input is required/requested. - The subject matter of the job is primarily concerned with supporting the implementation of HSBC UK Commercial Credit policy and procedures, in compliance with UK/European statutory/regulatory and Group requirements.
