Group Entity: Global Banking and Markets  Role Title : Business Manager - Global Markets, GBM Service Centers  Business/Function & Location (Country/Department) : Global Banking and Markets Service Centres, Bangalore  Role Purpose :  - The role is expected to support the buildup and the on-going business management of Global Markets team in the GBM Service Centers. This is a key role and will be instrumental to the successful launch and further development of the team. The incumbent is expected to support the AVP - Business Transition in Bangalore by managing and providing on the ground support for an ambitious programme of creating an off-shore team supporting Global Markets.   - The role will be required coordinate all activities relating to recruitment, onboarding, travel and training and all other activities related to the successful transition of activities to GBM SC in Bangalore. This will also include tracking and providing regular status updates, identifying risks and issues with current plans to help put in place remediation or mitigation activities. The role is expected to face off to all on-shore and off-shore parties, including HR and recruitment, SWD, Compliance, Capacity management, BRCM and Contingency Planning teams within GBM and within HOST Operations.   - The range of activities in scope is quite wide with migrations from London, Hong Kong & New York. This is expected to widen to other Global Markets- locations shortly.  Principal Accountabilities :  Key activities and decision-making areas :  1. Impact on the Business/Function :  - To act as the primary point of contact for Markets Front Office migration-related activities, representing the GSC on matters pertaining to offshoring for Markets   - To coordinate activities required to identify, onboard, train individuals within the Global Markets team and to operationalize activities in GSC Bangalore  - Create and own the project plan for GSC Bangalore deliverables to the project, provide a timely status update and to flag any risks or issues to the agreed plans. Where possible provide recommendation on mitigating action  - Provide on-going business management support  - against offshoring project plan   - Quality and timeliness of status reporting and management of risks and issues   2. Customers / Stakeholders :  - To effectively manage relationships with key teams in Bangalore - including HR, Recruitment, IT and the Central team act as a central point of contact and maintain open communication channels with the key stakeholders within Markets Front Office  - Appropriate service level targets to be defined and documented for the activities transferred to the Service Centre  - Assist the various support functions in their delivery to the offshoring programme e.g. HR, IT, Compliance   - Feedback from key Markets stakeholders  - Effective PLAs for all processes with strong governance and oversight  - Delivery from central support teams i.e. HR, Finance, IT, Facilities to meet the GBM requirements in the GSC  3. Leadership & Teamwork :  - Be a key member of the Project Oceanus Working Groups supporting the different aspects of the project as required to ensure success  - Build effective and strong interaction and governance with the HOST Migration (MCM) teams to ensure appropriate support in Bangalore and onshore  - Effective support within project team  - Appropriate migration governance, tracking and reporting for Markets Front Office  4. Operational Effectiveness & Control :  - To manage the risks associated with the migrations. Ensure delivery of the key aspects prior to migration to ensure risks managed appropriately  - Be an overall escalation point/co-ordinator ensuring that for all Bangalore and GSC activities as a 'whole' Markets are on track to achieve offshoring targets in agreed timelines.  - Support the governance structures set up to monitor the progress of the project to ensure timely reporting of status and highlighting of issues.   - Delivery of Oceanus migrations targets  Major Challenges :  - First offshoring of Markets Front Office roles so strong support and guidance will be required for the business  - A rapidly changing regulatory environment with extensive impacts on the Markets businesses  - A high risk and sensitive set of functions potentially to be offshored so it is critical there is no negative business or client impact  - Increasing focus on business continuity delivery  - Availability of appropriate resources and conflicting priorities across the business  Role Context :  - By the end of 2015, the GBM footprint across the GSCs is over 7000 FTE across 7 centers and 6 countries. The Service Centers support all business lines within GBM including Markets, HSS and Banking.   - The Markets Front Office roles need to be integrated into the wider GBM Service Centre structure whilst ensuring appropriate segregation with an effective support structure both within Markets as well as the wider GBM and HOST structures  Management of Risk :  - The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.   - This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.   Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.  Observation of Internal Controls :  - The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.  - The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term - compliance- embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.   - This will be achieved by adhering to all relevant processes/procedures and by liaising with Compliance department about new business initiatives at the earliest opportunity. Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimising relations with regulators.  Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications :  - Possess strong business and project management skills  - Knowledge of the Markets industry and products   - Proven track record in business analysis and change/transformation management   - Experience in project methodology and documentation  - Understanding and experience of offshoring complex processes and functions   - The ability to work with senior management globally and act as a team player  Key Skills & Capabilities :  - Thinking broadly and strategically about business issues. rather than focusing only on short-term, local challenges.  - Able to navigate and influence a diverse set of stakeholders while demonstrating independent and objective thinking around issues.  - Ability to balance value and risk effectively when making decisions eg., speed of delivery vs robustness of results, cost vs capacity.  - Optimises the pace of delivery by consistently following through and ensuring that expectations are met.   - Seeking out and improving on best practice and capability   - Being comfortable with an ambiguous and changing context while being able to drive tangible change.
