(Overview of Dept./Function): - RC Risk Strategy team at Offshore supports the design and build out of the Regulatory Conduct within HSBC Global Compliance function. - Regulatory Conduct is a Group Capability within the Compliance function that sets standards and infrastructure to support stewardship of Regulatory Compliance risks for the group. - The role is a forward looking role to support the design and build out of the Regulatory Conduct function within the HSBC Global Compliance function. The Opportunity: (Brief Overview of the Role): - Producing reports to support Risk Stewards taking an intelligence-led approach to overseeing changes in 1LoD portfolio RC Risks, identifying areas where there may be potential detriment requiring further investigation - Consolidating information from various Regulatory Conduct systems and producing MI for senior risk management forums, including information on escalations and agreed actions - The role will involve working with stakeholders across Regulatory Conduct in country, regional and Group roles to report findings on RC risks. - RCRS is a recently formed team, so the role holder must be able to work comfortably within a fluid and developing framework. - The successful applicant will need to have excellent data analysis skills, Regulatory Conduct knowledge, an inquisitive and investigative mind-set, good report writing and communication skills, as well as a good understanding of project management techniques, in order to achieve the team's objectives What you'll do: (List out Key Responsibilities): Principal Accountabilities: - To support Businesses by providing specialist assistance as required; - To proactively identify key emerging compliance risks across all RC categories and interface appropriately with other RC teams and senior management; - To provide understanding of the potential impact and associated consequences of significant new or emerging risks; - To pro-actively work with the Business and Stakeholders to develop policies and procedures as required; - To provide innovative and effective solutions based on SME knowledge that assist the Business / Function - Leadership &amp; Teamwork - Assist with developing and communicating a clear vision for RCRS that is aligned to the overall HSBC vision, Values and goals, and inspires and engage people to create an inclusive, high performing, customer-centred culture; - Encourage constructive cross-country and cross-business teamwork by demonstrating collaboration and matrix management in action and taking prompt action to address any activities and behaviours that are not consistent with HSBC's diversity policy and/or the best interests of the business and its customers. Specific responsibilities : - Support development and implementation of globally consistent RCRS TES to provide actionable RC risk insight; - Consolidation and analysis of risk information to identify RC risk insights for senior RC stakeholders to action; - Deliver of products that support the risk stewardship model and promote an active risk management culture within regulatory compliance - Implementation of tracking and oversight protocols to ensure action is taken, where required; - Supporting responsibilities / capabilities - Providing input into the design of and implementing enhancements to RC risk framework components, managing the incorporation of RC requirements within the overall risk governance framework and strategy. - Working with RC MI and Project teams to oversee the design and implementation of a new technical solution to ensure data is available via a user-friendly front-end reporting tool. What you will need to succeed in the role: (Minimum Qualification and Skills Required) - Excellent knowledge and understanding of: Enterprise Risk Management Framework and Operational Risk Management Framework - Risk Frameworks - An understanding of the concepts supporting a risk management framework, the lines of defence and how they interact and how a risk profile is established, with key risks identified and appropriate controls mapped. Knowledge of how a risk profile can be challenged and remediation activities tracked - Regulatory Risks - Knowledge of the wider regulatory environment and some idea of the likely regulatory risks and upcoming changes that are mostly likely to impact HSBC and which areas of our business are likely to be most affected. Knowledge and understanding of the global regulatory environment and key compliance risk trends as well as practitioner-level knowledge of regulatory obligations in multiple jurisdictions; - Business Processes - Candidates should have an overall understanding of the different types business of HSBC and the types of products offered by each and how these businesses are supported by middle and back offices - Analytical Skills - The candidates must be able to understand source data, compare information from across the three lines of defence and reach a conclusion, identifying anomalies and where further input required. This includes both strong verbal and numerical analysis, as successful applicants will have to use numerical comparison and close reading of rationales to reach suitable conclusions - Stakeholder Engagement - Candidates must feel confident engaging with onshore stakeholders directly, including 1LoD and 2LoD stakeholders. Candidates must be able to build effective working relationships and provide robust challenge and feedback where necessary without compromising those relationships What additional skills will be good to have? (List out good to have skills and certifications) - Project management skills - A good understanding of project management techniques and experience in project delivery would be desirable, Successful delivery within a change / project environment; - Report Writing - Candidates must be able to summarise large amounts of complex data into clear and comprehensive reports that can be readily understood by a senior audience. Candidates must be able to work to challenging deadlines to produce such reports - To support decisions with sound reasoning, clearly articulate the case for risk management and policy and the business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings; - As a highly motivated and dynamic self-starter, working collaboratively within teams, delivering on time and with a strong attention to detail. - With strong inter-personal skills and excellent communication, dealing with senior executives. - Sound judgment and problem solving skills, ability to think laterally; - Good quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; and - High level of professional and personal integrity;
