Role : Payroll Manager

Mode of Employment : 6 months extendable contract
Specific Responsibilities that you would own :
A. Payroll Management & Statutory Compliances
- Transition from the current set-up of hands-on payroll management to one that is managed actively by the payroll partner with the help of implant(s).
- Responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll month on month, including managing annual processes such as new payroll cycle kick-off, close of a payroll year, taxation and including accounting
- Hold the partner(s) accountable for accurate and timely reporting of monthly metrics and engage with them on improvement measures to further streamline the offering for our business and associates.
- Monitor and audit monthly and quarterly adherence to statutory compliances, while leading and managing the annual renewal process such as gratuity, insurance and related communication with business heads and associates.
- Improve our ability to manage all Provident Fund related associate experience, with the help of the right partner, who is proactive in their communication and follow-up with both associates as well as the government PF agency
C. Annual Planning and Budgeting
- Lead the annual merit increase exercise and bonus payments for Beckman India, while liaising with the Global Compensation & Benefits team and aligning on the approach with the local HRMs
- Support salary budgeting and headcount projections for the business at an all India level
- Lead and support annual internal as well as external payroll and central operations related audits
D. Centralized Process Management
- Manage the on-boarding and exit process centrally for all divisions
- Find opportunities for continuous improvement in existing and established policies and processes
- Update MasterControl to enable appropriate record-keeping of policies and office-wide training
- Lead any vendor transitions that may be undertaken including planning and communication
E. Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Conduct monthly on-boarding calls for new hires, set-up and monitor help desks, anchor communication with exiting employees, and provide regular updates for office-wide meetings
- Enable resolution for employee escalations that are received on payroll, compliances or benefits
- Engage the key stakeholder group of 3 HR Managers, 4 HR Business Partners and also Finance leaders, on progress made on key imperatives and against the annual shared services plan
Qualification and Experience :
- Experience - 10 - 12 years in HR with a minimum 2 years in a hands-on Payroll or a Shared Services role
- Education - MBA in HR or Finance with a graduate degree in commerce
- Specialization in either Payroll Migration, Compensation & Benefits, Process Centralization and
- Improvement and related communication and change management would be necessary.
- Ability to build relationships and influence people in a matrix environment, create and enforce process discipline and a positive work culture
- Prior experience in managing an employee base of 500+ employees is essential
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel), data analytics is necessary, experience of Workday would be helpful
