Manager - Payroll

Summary :

- The position holder will be responsible to manage HR Operations / Administration of approximately 19000 employees basis Team, Department, Function or Location with focus on Payroll, Attendance, Grievance Management, Disciplinary actions & Exits. Should work towards bringing continuous improvement in offering services to the Employees, business stakeholders & HR Business Partners by acting as an advisor for Payroll related processes & an interface between Business Stakeholders & Business Partners.

Job Responsibilities -

Payroll processing :

- A SAP payroll specialist with the HR offices to ensure accurate, timely and efficient administration of payroll

- UAT during the implementation of SAP payroll systems

- Processing of Payroll in Legacy system and SAP and analysis of GAP during parallel run

- Input and maintains employee payroll records in SAP, auditing for compliance with company policy, procedures and authorizations with cyclical deadlines

- Produces month-end journals and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as well as assist in providing payroll information for statutory and tax audits

- Establishes and maintain a productive relationship with division contacts and internal staff in payroll, HR, benefits and accounting, maintain confidentiality at all times

- Develop more efficient, streamlined processes to eliminate manual work focused on automation.

- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff

- Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements

- Ensure payroll is processed accurate (Zero % error), compliant and timely manner

- Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.

- Direct the preparation of payroll related documents

- Administration of benefit plans

- Compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements

- Compile data from payroll sources

- Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports

- Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations

- Review and improve payroll policies and procedures

- Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements

- Support all internal and external audits related to payroll

- Process payroll checks for executive staff

- Interpret new legislation impacting payroll

- Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production

- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

- Maintains payroll staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.

- Maintains payroll staff job results by counselling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.

- Monitor the accurate processing of staff appointments, transfers, promotions and terminations

- Performance manage and develop payroll staff

- Query resolution of employees as per defined norms

- Accrual on monthly basis for new hire, statutory Bonus etc

- Handling the payroll of international Workers with the compliance of Tax and social security Benefits

Attendance & Leave Management

- Work towards building effective systems, processes & policy to track, manage & record attendance & leave records of the employees.

Employee / Business Requests Management

- Ensure that all requests are tracked & served within agreed timelines related to but not limited to errors in payroll, attendance, leave vendor payments etc.

Grievance & Conflict Management :

- Manage Employee grievance & conflicts through interventions & one-o-one meetings.

Process & Policy adherence :

- Ensure that all the actions are taken in strict adherence to the HR Policies & Processes.

Desired Profile:

- Digree / Diploma in Human Resource/Finance

- 8+ years of experience in HR with core focus on Payroll, Accounting, reconciliation

- Must have 4 years of experience of SAP Payroll

- In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing

- Should be highly process oriented, having eye for details & having thurst to create best in class HR systems.

- Should be hands on with MS Excel, MS Word & MS Power Point.

- Good communication skills, both written & verbal.
