Job Purpose Statement :  Providing overall Legal advice, Contract and Litigation management   Principal Accountabilities and KPIs :  1. Managing litigation portfolio with an objective to reduce litigation exposure and contest cases filed by and against the company with an intension to get positive orders/judgments.  2. Efficiently managing contract management activity by settling and approving draft agreement/contracts for different internal departments and plants with an intention to strengthen the documents so that any conflict and litigation exposure is avoided on the company.  3. Taking lead in developing policies and SOP's for legal requirements   Providing Legal support and Advisories to the Corporate and all departments/functions in any matter which they approach legal for support and advisory so that exposures are minimized/controlled in a effective manner.  Provide support on all legal compliances applicable to the company including new regulations  Applied Activities :  Formulation of effective strategy to contest such litigation.  Proper coordination with external advocates and support and explain them about our stand.  Vetting and approving the draft petitions/replies/documents received from external Advocates.  Understanding the requirement and commercials involved in that particular transaction.  Formulating strategy for strengthening of the documents by incorporating points to safeguard company's interest without compromising with commercial understanding.  Reviewing the current practise followed by different verticals with regard to legal compliance.   To provide advisories in matters of labour law, service matters, statutory compliances. Resolving vendor relates issues and other strategic issues.  Facilitating all department in discussions, negotiations and finalization of different commercial understanding/transactions in a manner that such exposure is avoided/minimized.   Providing advisory to understand the issue and take appropriate steps to get into any transaction without any future legal exposure.  KPIs :  Taking active steps for closing litigating and instructing Advocates accordingly  To provide legal support in turn around time of 7 to 10 days without effecting any time lines set fort for such transaction.  To implement strategies and processes to avoid any compliance related issues and exposure of litigation.   To provide such advisories on regular basis and initiating awareness programme so that legal compliance is in place and exposure of related legal issues/litigation is proactively controlled and managed.  Key Challenges :  1. It is a challenge to procure the documents from the concerned department which are required urgently to contest the case.  Key Interactions :  Internal:   All departments in the company  Nature/ purpose of interaction  For proper understanding of business understanding/transaction so that proper legal support can be provided.  For collection of documents/contract/agreements/letters etc in the matter.  External :  Law Firms and individual Advocates  Nature/ purpose of interaction  For proper and timely coordination to contest litigations/matters filed for and against the company and procure favourable orders/judgments for the company.  Educational Background: LLB  Relevant Experience: 9-12 Years  Skills and Capabilities :   Threshold skills and capabilities required to execute the role :  Ability to understand strategic issues and formulation of policies to deal with such strategic matters.  Formulation of effective strategy for dealing with such issues.  Proactive approach towards closing/minimizing any anticipated issues/ exposure on the company.
