HEOR Data Analyst Role -SAS/SQL


Role and Responsibilities:

- Experience/working knowledge in FHIR/HL7 standards , Clinical Trials/Medical Data.

- Applies and seek technical expertise to conduct scientific research in the health outcome field.

- Technical expertise may include scope or depth of conducting statistical analysis, economics models, clinical trials, PRO study development, observational/epidemiologic research, and health technology or other outcome assessment within a therapeutic area.

- Effectively communicates health outcome information to business partners, the scientific community, and customers. Leads dissemination of health outcomes information in appropriate scientific venues via development preparation, and presentation of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.

- Driving strategy for clinical data ingestion from various external sources including Admission, Discharge, and Transfer event notifications, HIE connections, vendor applications, and other channels to support various business use cases.

- Collaborates with key internal and external stakeholders to analyze needs and gather requirements to design and implement innovative solutions which support clinical data exchange with our Health Hubs, Epic Platform, and our enterprise Clinical Data Repository.

- Assess existing available data, identifying data gaps, and collaborate with the data strategy teams, IT, business partners, and outside vendors to determine best sources of data for closing gaps.

- Constructs and delivers written reports of the findings/solutions in a variety of formats (reports, PPT, including visualization of data and findings), formulating recommendations, and effectively presenting the results to potential non-analytic audiences.

- Communicates complex technical subjects to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Create Data Mart.

- Data extraction, transformation and cleansing.

- Support traditional business/data analysts with clinical data domain knowledge, perform the role of Clinical HEOR SME.

- Perform additional project management and business analysis tasks, necessary to support the initiatives for stateside team.

- Support business with clinical domain knowledge and should be clinical SME. It's redundant. Same as two bullet points above it.

- Experience/working knowledge in FHIR/HL7 standards.

Candidate Profile:

Must have:

- Minimum level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's/PG degree in economics/life science or equivalent experience.

- Three to four Five to ten (53-104) years of relevant hands- on data analysis experience.

- Strong healthcare data experience.

- Strong statistical background.

- Expertise in SAS/SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, Hadoop/Hive and Python

- Direct Relevant experience with Epic HEOR/RWE studies and Epic interoperability capabilities.

- Experience with ADTs, HL7 interfaces, and FHIR capabilities medical/pharmacy claims, Labs and enrollment data.

- Problem solving skills and experience constructing analytic solutions to business problems.

- Working knowledge of a variety of healthcare data management processes and techniques, including data standards, interoperability, and proper data privacy.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, that includes developments and presentation of strategic plans and presentations to executive and technical audiences with the goal of to obtaining feedback and alignment on project goals and delivery strategies.

Good to have:

- Working knowledge of interoperability and clinical data exchange standards.

- Experience of conducting data analysis in a healthcare setting.

- Experience of working with clinical data sets including EHR data.

- Experience with healthcare claims data, pharmacy data, and healthcare operations data.

- Experience with HL7ICD9/10, FHIRNDC, LOINC, SNOMED CTPs, and other healthcare data standards.

- Experience working with business partners in clinical, operations, IT, and compliance.

- Working knowledge of healthcare industry products, /services and operations.

- HealthCare standards and protocols, interface applications like (NG Connect - Mirth(preferred), eLink, Connexion, Cloverleaf, Rhapsody, Corepoint)

- Provide 3rd tier support (as defined in the Support SOP) to EMR/LIS-Interface related problems

- Experience working with multiple technologies a plus
