Head/Vice President - International Business - Power Generation Business

- Our client is a well-known power products manufacturing company having a range of power equipment like diesel generator, petrol generators, genset electrical, power solutions.

- As part of a growth initiative, the client is current looking for a Business Head @ level of Vice President for overall P&L responsibility for the International Business / Exports Business Unit currently having a top-line of just under 300 crores.

- The role is to bring a strategy perspective for an established business unit to take it to a higher level of business responsibility and profitability. The export business unit has an available footprint of all the products manufactured by the company for marketing on a global basis. The current client base covers Middle East, Africa including South Africa and South East Asia.

- The requirement is for a good engineer, preferably from a power products domain and a track record of marketing / business growth in the regions mentioned. A good engineer degree preferably with an MBA, with a strong export marketing background ideally in the power products domain & a total experience of around 20 plus years.

- The role at the level Business Head is to define and implement a focused strategy for the international business unit that takes into account the nuances of each market and each product group individually. Owing to the nature of the product group, the end customer could be spread between large OEMs, global tenders, consultants who facilitate large projects, system integrators, distribution channel and marketing consultants in different regions.

- A background in understanding and selling capital equipment is a MUST couple with a strong understanding of application engineering and product customization for different industry segments as applicable to power generation based products. Though, the responsibility includes increase in topline and focus on P&L, this is NOT a Sales & Marketing kind of role but focused largely on international business strategy.

- The person owns Revenue and profitability. This senior professional / Business Head will be assisted with a large global team including senior professionals responsible for each region, product managers and application engineers for each product group / geographical location.

- In short, the profile is for a strategic business head, with a strong background in capital goods / solutions marketing. The person to have a track record of building market share in identified countries in a structured way. A good Electrical Engineering degree in addition to a MBA is a must. An existing track record of dealing with 2 / 3 international regions would be needed. A total of approx. experience of 20 / 25 years would be needed of which atleast the 5 years should be in the leadership role and having handled P&L responsibilities for an international region/s.

This senior position reports to the CEO of the organization.
